Provided is an optical tomographic imaging apparatus that, at imaging a tomographic image in an OCT system with a high lateral resolution, can more reduce blurring in the image due to movement of an object, including: a scanning device for scanning, on the object, a first irradiation beam having a large spot diameter and a second irradiation beam having a small spot diameter synchronized with each other, an image information acquiring device for acquiring first and second image information obtained with the irradiation beams, respectively, by scanning the first and second irradiation beams, and a position correcting device for identifying a position of the first image information based on reference image information acquired in advance, and, based on correlation of a positional relation between the first and second image information, correcting a position of the second image information by associating the position with the identified first image information's position.

A tomographic-image pickup unit is controlled so as to capture a tomographic image in response to a signal input from a signal input unit. Then, a display unit is controlled so as to display the captured. tomographic image. An eyeground-image pickup unit is controlled so as to capture a two-dimensional image in response to a signal input from the signal input unit while the tomographic image. is displayed on the display unit. Therewith, the user can more easily perform imaging, and the time load on the subject is reduced.

A schematic eye is used for the evaluation of the optical system of an optical coherence tomography apparatus which captures a tomogram of the fundus. The eye includes a first optical member which irradiated light from the optical system strikes and a second optical member which irradiated light from the first optical member strikes. A plurality of layers having different scattering intensities in the incident direction of irradiated light are formed on the second optical member.

An ocular blood-flow meter includes an optical system for applying measuring light to a blood vessel of a subject eye, and for receiving light scattered by the blood vessel of the subject eye. A mechanism is provided for changing a direction in which the measuring light is applied and a direction in which the scattered light is received so as to enable a plurality of measurements in different directions. A controller performs the plurality of measurements in the different directions by using the optical system and the mechanism so as to obtain information concerning a blood flow. An output device provides a received-light signal obtained by the optical system or the information concerning the blood flow. An input device enables an operator to select a re-measurement operation in a desired direction from the different directions and to instruct the selected re-measurement operation.

A Doppler velocimeter includes an illumination system for illuminating a blood vessel with a light beam, a detector for detecting Doppler-shifted scattered light produced from blood flowing in the blood vessel, and a processor for obtaining a blood flow velocity by analyzing a signal from said detector. The processor compares an actual power spectrum obtained by frequency-analyzing the signal with a theoretical power spectrum obtained using a frequency as a parameter while changing the parameter.

A blood vessel tracking apparatus includes a light source for emitting light and illuminating a blood-vessel with the light. The apparatus also includes a light-receiving sensor for receiving a blood vessel image made of light from the illumination light source reflected by the blood-vessel. The apparatus also includes an optical-path changing device for changing the optical-path of the light emitted from the illumination light source and a calculator for calculating the blood-vessel diameter of the illuminated blood-vessel based on an output of the light-receiving sensor, a plurality of times. A measuring device is also provided, which measures the change in blood-vessel diameter based on the calculating performed by calculating device.
