Abstract: A method for determining a condition of a second component of an engine is disclosed wherein the engine includes at least a first component and the second component. The method includes determining a concentration value of a chemical species in an effluent obtained from washing at least a portion of the first component of the engine, inputting the concentration value of the chemical species in a condition assessment model to update the condition assessment model, and estimating the condition of the second component based on an output of the updated condition assessment model. The effluent used herein includes a wash fluid and the chemical species. The second component is different from the first component and the condition assessment model is a representative of a condition of the second component of the engine.

Abstract: A method for performing condition-based maintenance of an engine is presented. The method includes obtaining one or more parameters corresponding to the engine. Also, the method includes determining a temperature profile corresponding to a portion of a fluid flow component based on a first parameter and one or more thermal models. The method further includes estimating a solid deposit in the portion of the fluid flow component corresponding to each cycle of the engine based on the temperature profile and deposition kinetics parameters. Further, the method includes predicting a total solid deposit in the portion of the fluid flow component based on the estimated solid deposit corresponding to each cycle of the engine. Moreover, the method includes performing the condition-based maintenance of the engine based on a value of the predicted total solid deposit.

Abstract: A system includes a sensor that may measure one or more engine oil parameters to assess engine oil health of an engine and a processor communicatively coupled to the sensor and that may receive a signal from the sensor. The signal is representative of a real-time measurement of the one or more engine oil parameters. The processor may also estimate the one or more engine oil parameters over time via an adaptive predictive model associated with the one or more engine oil parameters to generate estimated data and reconcile the real-time measurement and the estimated data to generate an integrated engine oil degradation model and predict engine oil remaining useful life based on the integrated engine oil degradation model and one or more condemn limits associated with the one or more engine oil parameters.
