    Abstract: A door operating system includes a door opening mechanism and a user controller including a first receiver configured to receive an RF signal and a second receiver configured to receive an internet signal. The user controller is in communication with the door opening mechanism and includes an RF transmitter capable of transmitting the RF signal to the door opening mechanism and a wireless internet transmitter capable of transmitting the internet signal to the door opening mechanism. The user controller includes a user interface including at least one user input element and is in operable communication with the door opening mechanism and the user controller. The control system is configured to generate and exchange a key during an initial pairing, receive an input from the user controller to open or close a door, and determine if the RF signal from the RF transmitter will be received by the door opening mechanism.

    Abstract: A system is disclosed that may selectively illuminate a first peripheral portion of a vehicle windshield from a plurality of peripheral portions. The first peripheral portion may correspond to part of a periphery of a first area portion of the windshield. The first area portion may be one of a plurality of area portions of the windshield. Further, the first area portion may be determined based on a substantial alignment with a driver's view of an object. Accordingly, a periphery portion of the windshield may be illuminated to draw the driver's attention to the object.

    Abstract: A vehicle occupant aid system is disclosed. The system may comprise a rearview assembly. Further, the rearview assembly may comprise a button. The system may further comprise one or more data capturing element. Each element may be a microphone, an imager, a location device, and/or a sensor. In some embodiments, a controller may record the data for a predetermined period of time. Further, the controller may transmit information to a remote device based upon initiation of a trigger. The information being based, at least in part, on the data. In other embodiments, the controller may operability record the data in response to a first operation of the button. Further, the controller may transmit information to a remote device based upon a second operation of the button. The information being based, at least in part, on the data recorded between the first and second operations of the button.

    Abstract: An illumination system includes an array of LEDs including a plurality of first LEDs and a plurality of second LEDs. A microlens array overlays the plurality of LEDs and includes a plurality of first lenses corresponding to the plurality of first LEDs and a plurality of second lenses corresponding to the plurality of second LEDs. A first geometry of at least one of the plurality of first lenses is different than a second geometry of at least one of the plurality of second lenses. An imaging device is configured to capture an image based on light reflected from the array of LEDs. At least one processing device is in communication with the array of LEDs and the imaging device. The at least one processing device is configured to identify a shadow cast on the target region by an obstruction and selectively activate the array of LEDs based on the shadow.

    Abstract: Systems for aiding a vehicle driver are disclosed. A system may comprise an imager having a field of view forward relative a vehicle and operable to capture a first image. The system may further comprise a controller communicatively connected to the imager. The controller may be operable to detect a road sign in the first image, to interpret the road sign, and to provide an graphic representation of the road sign and/or provide an auditory response based, at least in part on the road sign.     Abstract: A system includes an illumination source associated with a vehicle. The illumination source is configured to emit a structured light pattern onto a portion of at least one of a trailer towed by the vehicle and, if present, a load hauled by the trailer. A camera is associated with the vehicle and configured to capture the structured light pattern and generate one or more images of a scene. A controller is communicatively connected to the camera and configured to receive the one or more images from the camera, and create one or more depth map of the scene based, at least in part, on the one or more images. The controller is further configured to determine at least one of a position and an orientation of at least one of the trailer and the load, and detect the presence of a potentially hazardous condition related to towing the trailer.
