Abstract: A transfer mechanism for delivering and receiving pinion workpieces to and from a pair of double-station bevel gear cutting machines in timed relation to their operation. The mechanism also includes storage bank means in which partiallyprocessed workpieces may be accumulated, thereby permitting the double-roughing machine to continue operation when the doublefinishing machine must be temporarily shutdown for cutter replacement, daily maintenance, etc., and similarly providing a continuing supply of workpieces to the double-finishing machine when the double-roughing machine is temporarily shutdown.
