Abstract: The object is to avoid degradation of magnetic detection precision arising due to magnetization of transport rollers used for transporting a paper sheet. A paper sheet magnetic detection apparatus that detects a magnetic material in the paper sheet by using a magnetic sensor includes a transport path that transports paper sheets one by one; at least one magnet that is used in the detection of the magnetic material by the magnetic sensor; and a plurality of transport rollers that are arranged near the magnetic sensor and that transport the paper sheet in the transport path. Outer peripheral surfaces of the plurality of transport rollers that face the transport path are made of a non-magnetic material.

The paper sheet detection device includes a pair of rolling bodies (rollers) facing each other, disposed on a transport path transporting the paper sheet, and configured so that the paper sheet passes therebetween, and a detection unit detecting displacement of the rolling bodies when the paper sheet passes between the pair of rolling bodies to detect the paper sheet.

Abstract: The present disclosure can provide a paper sheet recognition apparatus which can generate a subtracted reflective light image without increasing detection time. The operations of sensors (20, 30) are controlled in a plurality of phases. The phases include a phase (reflected infrared light 1) in which a light emission unit (22a) emits light, a light emission unit (22b) emits no light, and an optical sensor (21) detects reflective light, and a phase (reflected infrared light 2) in which the light emission unit (22a) emits no light, the light emission unit (22b) emits light, and the optical sensor (21) detects reflective light. In at least one of these phases, a light emission unit (24) emits light, and an optical sensor (31) detects transmissive light.

Abstract: To detect a fluorescent light and a phosphorescent light emitted from a paper sheet with a high precision, a fluorescence and phosphorescence detecting apparatus that detects the fluorescent light and the phosphorescent light emitted from the paper sheet being transported on a transport path includes two sensor units. Each sensor unit includes a light source that emits an ultraviolet light on the paper sheet, an image sensor that captures images of the fluorescent light and the phosphorescent light excited on the paper sheet by irradiation of the ultraviolet light, and a light receiving lens that guides the fluorescent light and the phosphorescent light excited on the paper sheet to the image sensor. The two sensor units are arranged above and below the transport path and opposing each other across the transport path, and the light receiving lenses and the image sensors in the two sensor units are off-set along a transport direction of the paper sheet.

Abstract: Light is emitted on one side of a paper sheet 100, which is being transported on a transport path, from a first light source 11, and light is emitted on other side of the paper sheet 100 from a second light source 21 and a fourth light source 22. A first light receiving sensor 14 receives a first reflected light, which is the light emitted by the first light source 11 and reflected from the one side of the paper sheet 100. A second light receiving sensor 24 receives a second reflected light, which is the light emitted by the second light source 21 and the fourth light source 22 and reflected from the other side of the paper sheet 100, and receives a transmitted light that is the light emitted by the first light source 11 and that has passed through the paper sheet 100. With this, satisfactory reflection image and transmission image of the paper sheet can be acquired while realizing the downsizing of the device.

Abstract: By overlapping lighting timings of light sources that emit lights of a plurality of different wavelength bands including a wavelength band of at least a visible light region and an infrared light region, the lights of the plurality of the different wavelength bands including the wavelength band of at least the visible light region and the infrared light region are emitted on a banknote while securing an overlap in timings thereof. Moreover, by using light receiving elements each including a bandpass filter that allows only light of a wavelength range that corresponds to the wavelength band of each of the light sources, received light intensities of the light of the wavelength range that corresponds to the wavelength band of each of the light sources are acquired simultaneously, and image data are formed based on the received light intensity of every acquired wavelength band.
