Abstract: A fuel tank system for use in a vehicle comprises a fuel tank having a volume comprising a first or primary range and a second or preliminary range. A fuel level sensor assembly disposed in the fuel tank comprises a receiving unit, a first fuel level sensor positioned to move with the level of fuel in the first or primary range of the fuel and a second fuel level sensor positioned to move with the level of fuel in the second or preliminary range of the fuel. The receiving unit delivers a signal to a control module that indicates that the fuel level is within the preliminary range or the primary range.

Abstract: A fuel storage assembly includes a power source, a first tank, a fuel pump, an electric relay, a second tank, and a shut-off device. The fuel pump is adapted to remove fuel from the first tank. The electric relay is electrically connected between the power source and the fuel pump for terminating electric power to the fuel pump. The second tank is adapted to receive the fuel removed from the first tank. The shut-off device is located in the second tank and is electrically connected to the electric relay, and is configured to detect a shut-off level of fuel in the second tank. Upon detection of the shut-off level, the shut-off device effects shut-down of the fuel pump via the electric relay.

The fuel valve is operable to fluidically isolate the fuel pump from the fuel pump module when fuel in the internal volume reaches a selected fuel level.

Abstract: A system for minimizing hydrocarbon vapor emissions includes a fuel vapor adsorption canister and a fresh air vent line from the fuel adsorption canister to an ambient environment to vent the fuel vapor adsorption canister. The fresh air vent line includes one or more hydrocarbon trap sections. The one or more hydrocarbon trap sections of the fresh air vent line adsorb hydrocarbon emissions from the fuel vapor adsorption canister to minimize hydrocarbon emissions to the ambient environment.
