Abstract: A dual band stacked patch antenna includes a first patch antenna arrangement coupled to and stacked on a substrate, the first patch antenna arrangement being configured to receive right hand circularly polarized signals in a first frequency band and a second patch antenna arrangement coupled to and stacked on the first patch antenna arrangement, the second patch antenna arrangement being configured to receive right hand circularly polarized signals in a second frequency band. A dielectric superstrate is stacked on the second patch antenna arrangement. Signals in the first and second frequency bands are transmitted to the first and the second patch antenna arrangements through the dielectric superstrate. A single signal feed is shared by both the first patch antenna arrangement and the second patch antenna arrangement and acts to transmit electrical signals representative of the right hand circularly polarized signals in the first and the second frequency bands.
