Abstract:
A windshield wiper assembly for an automobile, comprising a wiper arm, a wiper blade, a plurality of double claw fixtures pivotally mounted onto the wiper arm and adapted to support the wiper blade on the wiper arm, and an actuator adapted to selectively induce rotation of the wiper blade along a longitudinal axis of the wiper blade relative to the wiper arm, each of the double claw fixtures adapted to rotatably support the wiper blade.
Abstract:
A spray nozzle system includes a housing having an upper cap, a neck portion for helping to support the housing adjacent a component, and at least one fluid flow line for supplying a fluid to an interior area of the housing. A plurality of spray nozzles may be included which are housed in the housing and in communication with the at least one fluid line for distributing the fluid over a circumferential surface of the component.
Abstract:
Apparatus are provided for notifying a driver of an open vehicle access. The apparatus includes an electronic control module for informing a vehicle driver that a vehicle access is not secured, the electronic control module configured to determine if a transmission of the vehicle is in either a park status or a neutral status, determine if all keys for the vehicle are located outside a predetermined distance from the vehicle and determine if a displacement sensor indicates that a vehicle access is not closed. When the vehicle is in the park or neutral status, the key is located at a distance greater than the predetermined distance from the vehicle, and at least one vehicle access is indicated as being not closed, then an access open message is generated and sent to the driver.
Abstract:
A fluid curtain system for a vehicle mounted sensor includes a sensor member including a first end, a second end, and a sensing surface. The sensing surface is arranged between the first end and the second end. A fluid curtain generator is arranged at one of the first end and the second end of the sensor member. The fluid curtain generator is operable to generate and direct multiple streams of fluid at the sensor, the multiple streams of fluid forming a fluid curtain across the sensing surface.
Abstract:
A ball and socket joint assembly is disclosed herein. The assembly includes a ball including a stud head and a shank, a socket including a cavity configured to receive the stud head, a retention surface, and a plurality of retention portions, and an interlocking member including a plate portion having an engagement surface that, in use, interfaces with the retention surface and the plurality of retention portions to achieve an interlocked position between the interlocking member and the socket.
Abstract:
A windshield wiper system for a vehicle includes a wiper arm pivot shaft having a pivot axis extending through the pivot shaft. An energy-absorbing feature is arranged to absorb energy of an external force applied to the wiper arm pivot shaft. The energy-absorbing feature enables the wiper arm pivot shaft to move away from the external force.
Abstract:
A sensor cleaning nozzle includes a nozzle housing including a first end and a second end defining a head portion, and a nozzle system arranged within the nozzle housing. The nozzle system includes a fluid feed member including a fluid feed inlet arranged at the first end and a fluid feed outlet arranged in the head portion. A cleaning nozzle is arranged in the head portion. The cleaning nozzle includes a nozzle inlet is fluidically connected to the fluid feed outlet, a nozzle outlet is exposed at the head portion, and a nozzle bore extends between the nozzle inlet and the nozzle outlet. The nozzle bore converges from the nozzle inlet toward the nozzle outlet along a first nozzle axis and diverges from the nozzle inlet toward the nozzle outlet along a second nozzle axis.

Abstract:
A wiping system is provided for a vehicle including a window having a window surface and a device having a device surface. The wiping system includes a moveable blade element for wiping both the window surface and the device surface. The moveable blade element includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a first profile defining a first wiping edge configured to wipe the window surface. The second portion has a second profile defining a second wiping edge configured to wipe the device surface. The device surface may protrude from the window surface, and the second wiping edge may conform to the protrusion of the device surface from the window surface.
