The concave primary mirror has an inner margin adjacent to the central opening. A secondary light mirror structure includes a secondary mirror having a center and an outer periphery. The secondary mirror faces the concave primary mirror and the central base of the primary light mirror structure. A spider support extends between the inner margin of the concave primary mirror and the center of the secondary mirror facing the central base. The spider support does not extend to the outer periphery of the secondary mirror. The spider support has openings therethrough to permit light rays to pass between the secondary mirror and the central base of the primary light mirror structure.

    摘要: A leadscrew mechanical drive includes a leadscrew having a leadscrew axis and a leadscrew thread with a nonzero leadscrew thread pitch. A leadscrew follower structure is engaged to the leadscrew. The leadscrew follower structure includes a first leadscrew follower and, desirably, a second leadscrew follower. The first leadscrew follower and the second leadscrew follower are substantially identical, and each leadscrew follower includes a threaded insert having an insert thread with a nonzero insert thread pitch different from the leadscrew thread pitch. The insert thread is engaged to the leadscrew thread over a circumferential distance of less than one-half turn of the insert thread. Each leadscrew follower further includes a bearing in which the threaded insert is received and which permits the threaded insert to rotate about an insert axis that is inclined to the leadscrew axis by an angle θ for the first leadscrew follower and −θ for the second leadscrew follower, and a bearing support in which the bearing is receive. A preload structure biases each of the leadscrew followers against the leadscrew. A brake is selectively engagable to the threaded inserts to selectively permit the threaded inserts to rotate about the insert axis or prevent the threaded inserts from rotating about the insert axis.

There is additionally an annular, generally cylindrical, rotationally movable rotor ring overlying the support base and having an inner surface, and a plurality of permanent magnets affixed to the inner surface of the rotor ring at regular intervals around a cylindrical circumference of the rotor ring. The number of permanent magnets is even and equal to the number of electromagnet coils, and the permanent magnets are arranged in alternating polarities around the circumference of the rotor ring. In a preferred form, there are six of each type of magnet, spaced equidistantly around the circumference of the respective rings.

    摘要: An apparatus for turning the external circumference of an optical lens mount, a collimator is optically aligned with the turning axis (y-y). A fixture is mounted on the apparatus to accommodate the lens assembly. The fixture provides a translatory adjustment motion transverse to the axis (y-y) and a pivot motion about a universal joint. Electromechanical adjustment actuators operatively engage the fixture to move the optical axis of the lens assembly into alignment with the axis (y-y). An electronic deviation control system converts the light output of the collimator into an axis deviation signal which is encoded according to the rotary position of the lens assembly to generate translatory and pivot motion adjustment signals which control the action of the adjustment actuators. The electronic deviation control system consists of a continuous position sensing silicon photodetector which generates the deviation signal, a microprocessor controller receives the deviation signal and encodes it with a rotary position indicator and sends an adjustment signal to the Electromechanical adjustment actuators.
