Employment-related media content can then be associated with the viewer according to the employment profile registered by the viewer, and when an interactive job channel is selected for viewing at the television-based client device, the employment-related media content associated with the viewer is provided by the content provider for viewing on the interactive job channel.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a structure editor implementing a “top-down” approach to designing a Web page. The user uses a “drag and drop” interface to add, delete, and move display elements to define the hierarchy of the site and to define the layout of each page in the site. The present invention automatically generates a layout for each page. This layout contains display elements that represent the links between pages of the site. The present invention automatically adds, removes, and deletes the appropriate links between the pages of the site as the user moves display elements. After the user has defined the hierarchy of the site and the layout of each page in the site, the user “publishes” the site. The publish function automatically generates HTML for each page of the site in accordance with the display elements of each page, yielding true WYSIWYG pages for the site.

摘要: Techniques are described in which electronic program guide (EPG) affinity clusters may be formed based upon an assumption that programs scheduled in corresponding timeslots are targeted to the same or similar audiences. In at least some embodiments, data for an EPG is examined to identify programs that are scheduled in timeslots designated as corresponding. Metadata related to the identified programs is collected. The metadata may include titles as well as cast/crew data related to the programs. One or more affinity clusters may be formed using the collected metadata to establish relationships between actors, directors, titles and other items of the metadata. The affinity clusters may be used to provide recommendations including recommendation to view, record, or set a reminder for programs according to the relationships established by the affinity clusters.

摘要: A method and apparatus that a user to specify “master borders” that are normally a part of each web page on a web site. A preferred embodiment of the present invention allows the user to define the size of top, left, right, and bottom margins for each master border. The master borders are used for each page on the web site, unless the user chooses not to use the default master border on a particular page. Each master border has display elements defined therein. Initially, all pages in a site have the same master border. The master border for each page may be changed by the user. Changes to a master border, such as the addition of display elements to a master border on one page, are reflected in all pages using the master border. The user can also, for each page, specify whether one or more margins of the master borders is implemented as an HTML frame. The editor generates an HTML table representing each web page (or each frame of the web page). The user can chose to have HTML for the master borders generated as frames, overlapped in a user-defined manner.
