Abstract: A progressive shipping stand includes a stage one assembly, and a stage two assembly. The stage one assembly and the stage two assembly together define a first profile, and the stage two assembly alone defines a second profile, smaller than the first profile. The stage two assembly may be attachable directly to a load. The stage two assembly is operable independently in a discrete support configuration and is selectively cooperable with the stage one assembly in a full support configuration. The shipping support allows for large machinery such as a turbine or the like to meet at least one shipping criteria that would not otherwise be feasible using a standard shipping support.

Abstract: An assembly and method are provided for preventing exposure of personnel to an opening defined by a surface of a wind turbine. Accordingly, a hatch assembly is arranged adjacent to the opening. The hatch assembly includes a frame structure and a support structure. The frame structure includes a plurality of frame members arranged together to at least partially surrounded opening the plurality of frame members further define a passageway for receiving the support surface. The support surface is slidable between a first position and a second position. The support surface occludes the opening defined by the surface of the wind turbine when the support surface is in the first position and occludes the passageway defined by the plurality frame members when in the second position so as to prevent exposure of personnel to the opening.

A support plate attachable to the turbine casing interface includes a pin aperture that is sized to fit over the turbine casing pin in the slot.

Abstract: A coupling system for a machine assembly and a base is provided. The machine assembly includes a frame and a gib key extending outwardly from the frame. The coupling system includes at least one u-bracket configured to couple to the gib key such that said at least one u-bracket cooperates with the gib key to define a tenon pin opening. The at least one u-bracket is sized and shaped to be received in a clearance fit in a key channel defined in the base. The coupling system also includes a tenon pin sized and shaped to be received in the tenon pin opening such that the tenon pin couples the base to the gib key, and such that forces exerted on the received tenon pin parallel to a first direction are substantially in tension between the machine assembly and the base.
