Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tamper-evident container having a threaded neck to receive a threaded closure having a tamper evident feature. The container has a tamper-evident feature bead for retaining the feature on the container. The bead has one or more outwardly and downwardly shaped bulges which, as the closure is twisted off, apply a localized rupturing force on the tamper-evident feature so as to tear the feature away from the closure.
Abstract:
A bottle with a neck (1) has a child-resistant screw closure cap (13). In order to make the cap (13) child-resistant, the neck (1) is fitted with a collar (7) of U-shaped cross-section. The collar (7) is retained on the neck (1) by engagement of pawls (11) inside a portion (8) of the collar under a retaining ring (2) on the neck (1). The cap (13) is screwed onto the part (8) of the collar and to allow this to be done, the collar (7) is prevented from rotating on the neck (1) by engagement of the pawls (11) with ratchet teeth (4) on the outside of the neck (1). The pawls (11) and the ratchet teeth (4) are so shaped that if an attempt is made to unscrew the cap (13) merely by turning it in a counter-clockwise direction as seen from above, the pawls (11) ride over the ratchet teeth (4) so that the collar (7) is lifted on the neck (1) and is free to rotate. To enable the cap (13) to be unscrewed, the cap must be pressed downwards while it is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction to hold the pawls (11) in engagement with the ratchet teeth (4) and thus prevent the collar (7) from turning on the neck (1).
Abstract:
A child-resistant closure cap for fitting to an externally screw-threaded neck of a bottle is formed as a single integral injection moulding, preferably of polypropylene, forming an internally screw-threaded skirt, a bowed top wall which closes the top of the skirt, a force-applying member on the upper face of the top wall and lugs around the periphery of the underside of the top wall. The top wall is movable for snap action by the application to it of a force through the force-applying member between an upwardly bowed position and a downwardly bowed position. When the top wall is in the downwardly bowed position, the lugs engage with inward projections on the inside of the neck of the bottle and this prevents the closure cap from being unscrewed from the bottle. When the top wall is snapped into its upwardly bowed position, the lugs are moved clear of the inward projections and the cap can then be unscrewed.
Abstract:
A container (1) for dispensing viscous liquids consists of a hollow, resilient oval body (2) having a valve cap (6), and a hook-shaped support (7) slidably attached to the body (2). The support (7) may be fully extended and the hook (9) used to suspend the container (1) from a shower rail. Liquid may then be obtained from the container (1) by squeezing the body (2).
