    Abstract: This invention relates to a tampon applicator. More particularly, this invention relates to an application system for hygienic introduction of a tampon which comprises a substantially cylindrical outer sleeve, a substantially cylindrical inner sleeve displaceable therein having an outer diameter substantially the same as the inner diameter of the outer sleeve and a flanged end, and a substantially cylindrical tampon, wherein (a) the front end of the outer sleeve is a conically rounded lamellar shutter means consisting of a ring of tulip-shaped lamellae abutting a circumferential groove acting as a hinge means, the shutter means being normally closed and opening during ejection of the tampon; (b) the outer sleeve consists of a high-gloss, plastic-coated paper, said paper being coated on the outer surface and said coated paper being readily water degradable or water dispersible; (c) the inner sleeve is comprised of water degradable or water dispersible paper; (d) the inner surface of the outer sleeve and the outer surface of the inner sleeve have co-efficients of friction such that they do not readily slide without applied pressure but on application of slight manual pressure readily slide, thus facilitating the opening of the lamellar shutter means and ejection of the tampon; (e) the outer sleeve has a grip in the form of a scoring; (f) said inner sleeve has substantially the same length as the outer sleeve; and (g) the outer sleeve, inner sleeve, and tampon form with the closed lamellar shutter means at the front end of the tampon a substantially closed system.

    Abstract: A dispenser for discharging a flowable medium, having an elongate storage container which receives the flowable medium, has an essentially constant inner cross-section, bears a manually actuable, suction-type discharge device at the top and contains a follow-on plunger which forms a base in the storage container and is in close contact with a dischargeable quantity of free-flowing medium. In order to provide a dispenser of the abovementioned type which is of simple construction and is subject to low wear, it is provided that the plunger is made up of a circumferentially closed-cell flexible foam, which has little or no capacity for adhesion, and is provided with a slightly oversized circumferential surface with respect to the inner cross-section of the storage container, with the result that the plunger can slide along the inner wall of the storage container.

    Abstract: Toothbrush having an exchangeable bristle plate which is fastened releasably on a head-side carrier plate of a toothbrush body by a groove/tongue anchorage in conjunction with a press fit of a handle-side end of the bristle plate on an undercut stop of the toothbrush body. The undercut of the stop of the toothbrush body is designed in the form of a round wedge, a round wedge of the bristle plate finally engaging in the undercut when a central, rear elongate tongue is anchored in the groove of the carrier plate. The toothbrush body can be bent, at least in the region of the carrier plate and of a toothbrush neck, in order for the round-wedge securing arrangement of the bristle plate to be levered out.
