摘要: A priming method for rimfire cartridges is disclosed in which a propellant solution is disposed adjacent a centrifugally located primer material in a rimfire cartridge. The solvent is then evaporated to leave a propellant film near the primer material in order to provide slower, more uniform ignition to thereby allow use of propellant powders which would otherwise be too fast or too sensitive.

摘要: An electric primer using an intrinsic conductive pyrotechnic mixture is improved by the addition of a carbon layer between the inner and outer electrodes and the mixture. The carbon layer provides a parallel resistive current path between the electrodes in addition to the path through the conductive mixture. The addition of a carbon layer also increases the operable temperature range of the primer. The high energy firing threshold of the intrinsically conductive pyrotechnic mixture and the additional dissipative current path through the carbon layer coact to further reduce the sensitivity of the primer to RF radiation and ESD hazards.

摘要: The present invention is direct to primer housings to secure a semiconductor bridge device in close proximity to an energetic charge. The primar housings are formed from an electrically conductive alloy and contain a dielectric medium disposed between components to maintain electrical isolation. The housings are characterized by high ductility to resist fracture during assembly or handling. In certain embodiments, one or both lead wires are removed to reduce the potential for lead wire breakage or separation.
