摘要: An electrical connector (2) for mounting on a circuit board (4) comprises a housing (8) wiht through passages (10) each receiving an electrical terminal (38) having a transverse lance (76) with a free end (78) lodged in a recess (28) in a side wall (16) of the housing (2). Each terminal (38) has a solder tail (66) for engaging a pad (6) on the board (4), and from which projects a solder tail (66) having a soldering portion (68) outside the housing (2), for soldering to the pad (6) and being flexible about a reduced cross-section part (98). The foot (62) and the tail (66) have sheared edges (94 and 96). Sheared edge (96) engages the pad (6) to provide for high terminal density. The terminals (38) are moved inwardly of their passages (10) against the resilient action of their lances (76) when the connector (2) is applied to the board (4), to urge the sheared edge (96) against the pads (6) while the tails (66) are soldered to the pads (6).

摘要: An electrical connector (20) for mounting to a printed circuit board (24) includes a boardlock (22) secured thereto by an interference fit. The boardlock (22) has a first portion (58) including means for securing the boardlock (22) to the connector housing (26) and a second portion (68). The second portion (68) comprises spring means (72,74) extending from the first portion (58) to an end (80) beyond the mounting face (30) for reception in a boardlock receiving aperture (56) in the printed circuit board (24). The spring means (72,74) have a slot (70) therebetween and barb means (84) thereon with the barb means (84) positioned along the spring means (72,74) between the first portion (58) and the end (80) to engage wall means (92) of the boardlock receiving aperture (56).

This system includes an enclosure, wherein the enclosure further includes a bottom portion having a channel formed lengthwise therein; at least one spool mounted in the enclosure, wherein the at least one spool further includes a body having a channel formed therein and a base, and wherein a portion of the spool is inserted into the channel formed in the bottom portion of the enclosure; a length of cable, wherein a portion of the length of cable is inserted into the channel formed in the body of the at least one spool; and wherein rotating the base of the at least one spool winds the cable onto the body of the spool and secures the cable thereto.

摘要: A latching mechanism for releasably locking the electrical contacts of an electrical connector in the connector housing is disclosed. Each contact is surrounded by a collet having inwardly extending protrusions that are in depressions formed in the outer surfaces of the contacts. A retaining member is movable to a locked position where it surrounds each of the collets to prevent expansion thereof thereby locking the contacts in place within the housing. The retaining member is also movable to an unlocked position away from the collets, which allows expansion of a collet so that a damaged contact can be removed by simply pulling it out of the housing. A latching mechanism is provided to move the retaining member to its locked and unlocked positions from outside of the connector without disassembly thereof.

摘要: A multi plane connector system is formed by a header assembly mounted on at least one side of a circuit board and a connector commoning terminals of header assemblies on adjacent circuit boards. The terminals of the header assemblies can either be through-the-board mounted or surface mounted in either a soldered or spring loaded condition. The connector preferably includes latching means and can be back plane or ground plane mounted.

摘要: The electrical connector (4) is mounted to float in a back panel (P2) of a drawer containing a power supply distribution module. The panel has a T-shaped cut out (178) therein, the cut out having a transverse part (182) and a perpendicular part (180). The housing (100) of the connector (4) has upper flanges (144) projecting from opposite sides thereof, lower flanges (146) also projecting from opposite sides thereof, and a top flange (150). The upper flanges (144) disposed forwardly of the lower flanges (146) and the top flange (150). In order to mount the connector (4) to the panel (P2), the upper flanges (144) are inserted through the transverse part (182) of the cut out (178) to an extent limited by the top flange (150) and the connector (4) is then moved along the perpendicular vertical part (180) of the cut out, so that the upper flanges (144) engage the front face of the panel (P2) thereby cooperating with the lower flanges (146), which engage the rear face of the panel (P2), to retain the connector in the cut out (178). An adjustable latch bolt (176) may be provided in the top flange (150), to prevent the connector (4) returning to such an extent that the upper flanges (144) are aligned with the transverse part (182) of the cut out so that the connector (4) can fall from the panel (P2).

摘要: A solder clip (52) is formed independent of the molding of a connector housing (26) and inserted into recessed channels (50) in the mounting face (36) of the housing (26). The solder clip (52) is inserted until a stop (62) is reached thereby positioning the solder clip (52) relative to the housing (26). The leading corners (56) of the solder clip (52) are rounded to facilitate insertion of the solder clip (52) in the recessed channels (50). A portion of the base (54) of the solder clip (52) is offset (64) from the plane of the remainder of the base (54) to provide an interference fit with the channels (50) to maintain the position of the solder clip (52) in the channels (50). The solder clip (52) may have a solder tail (58) or a raised rib (66) for soldering to a printed circuit board (48). The solder clip (52 ) provides mechanical retention of the housing (26) on a printed circuit board (48) and may also serve as a ground.
