The heater coils are located on the insulating support surface (17) and have downwardly directed deformations (19) comprising a turn pressed out in the downwards direction. These deformations (19) are embedded in the surface layer (16) of the insulating support, which is mechanically stronger and more thermally conductive than the underlying insulating layer (15). The deformations are produced in a mould (22, 23) carrying the heater coils in slots (21) and by means of a bladelike punch (24) a turn is pressed into a depression (25). The connection between heater coil (18) and insulating support (12) during the moulding thereof comprises a loose insulating material, the heater coil and deformations being placed in slots (27) of mould part (26).

A shaped thermal insulation body comprises inorganic material. The shaped body has the following, weight-related composition: approx. 20 wt. % inorganic filling material: approx. 40 wt. % opacifier; approx. 10 wt. % fibrous material; and approx. 15 wt. % hardening agent as well as approx. 15 wt. % water. The shaped body only contains a small amount of fumed silica with a comparatively small BET surface. Water glass is excluded during its manufacture. It can be used as a spacer for radiant heaters.

A control device for an electrical heating device for a cooking field with a cooking field plate comprises an electro-mechanical switching device for adjusting a power of said heating device with different power levels and comprises two different heating element. The switching device is configured so that starting from a zero-position and rotating in a first rotation direction, a power level for a first heating element is adjusted in a cooking-mode. Rotation in the other direction activates a second heating element in a warm-keeping mode with significantly lower power. A relay is closed by a thermomechanical temperature sensing device below a defined switching temperature of 60° C. to 100° C. and opened above the switching temperature. When closed, the relay connects the two heating elements to an operating voltage for common operation. When opened, the first heating element is switched off for exclusive operation of the second heating element.
