To both sides of each shelf are attached a pair of supporting members. To both sides of a storage compartment are attached a pair of frames. Each supporting member includes a first fixing protrusion and a second fixing protrusion, which are inserted through a first fixing hole and a second fixing hole formed at each frame, respectively. The first fixing protrusion includes an insertion part extended from the upper end of the supporting member, the insertion part being inserted through the first fixing hole, and a hooking part extended downward from the insertion part, the hooking part being caught in the first fixing hole. To the first and second fixing protrusions is attached a reinforcing member for increasing the supporting strength of the supporting member.

The refrigerator comprises a main body having a storage compartment defined therein, and a lower cover mounted to the lower end of the front part of the main body such that the front part of the lower cover and the front part of the main body together form the same plane, wherein the lower cover is provided with an engaging member bent from the upper end of the lower cover toward the rear of the main body while being extended a prescribed length, the engaging member being successively formed in the lateral direction thereof, and wherein the main body is provided at the bottom part thereof with an engaging groove corresponding to the engaging member of the lower cover, the engaging member of the lower cover being engaged with the engaging groove of the main body. The lower cover is not protruded from the front part of the main body, and fixed parts of the lower cover are not exposed to the outside, whereby an aesthetic appearance of the refrigerator is provided, and formation of a gap between the lower cover and the lower end of main body is prevented.

An automatic door opening and closing apparatus and a refrigerator having the same. The refrigerator includes a cabinet and a refrigerator door hinged to an open side of the cabinet. The opening and closing apparatus comprises a first rotating shaft to rotatably connect the refrigerator door to the cabinet, a damper unit to allow the door to be automatically opened or closed, and a second rotating shaft to rotatably connect the damper unit to the door to allow the door to be automatically opened or closed by the damper unit depending on an opening degree of the door. The damper unit includes a damping member and a link member. The link member has a first end coupled to the damping member, and a second end coupled to the second rotating shaft. The damper unit and other parts of the automatic door opening and closing apparatus show simplified and strong structures, thereby achieving effective and smooth operation of the refrigerator door with a low effort. By allowing the refrigerator door to be automatically opened or closed when the opening angle of the refrigerator is in a predetermined range, the automatic door opening and closing apparatus of the present invention can provide satisfactory use of products.

A refrigerator having an improved assembly structure of doors, in which upper, lower and both side covers are simply assembled with frames of the doors without any gap between the covers and the frames. Holes are formed through the upper and lower covers, and protuberances inserted into the holes are formed on both side covers. The holes are formed at both side ends of the front surfaces of the upper and lower covers so as to have a designate depth and width, and the protuberances are formed at upper and lower ends of the front surfaces of both side surfaces so as to have a depth and width corresponding to those of the holes. A grip is formed integrally with one of both side covers, opposite to a hinge shaft of the door.
