摘要: A method and apparatus for desalinating water combined with power generation, comprising a desalination system used for desalinating coastal seawater and comprising a power generation system, wherein such dual purpose co-generation facility captures the heat vapor exhausted or a steam turbine generator's condenser is replaced by the desalination plant's heat exchanger enabling such captured heat energy to reduce the energy requirements of the desalination plant, and wherein brine solution being treated by the desalination plant is pumped from the substrata sea water table wells having low salt content brackish water.

摘要: What is described is a system for generating a web site. The system and method consists of a web server to service HTTP requests received from users and a database connected to the web server. The database determines which particular user community the requesting user is assigned to. A dataset of stored branch description files describes particular web site structures to be used for each of the user communities.

摘要: An ATM data network switch having two separate but simultaneously active switch fabrics and a plurality of slot controllers is disclosed. Each slot controller has at least one external data link thereto and is separately connected to the two separate switch fabrics. Each switch fabric was the ability to switch a data cell transmitted from any one of the slot controllers to any of the other slot controllers. Each slot controller is arranged to determine the availability of the data paths to all the other slot controllers through both switch fabrics and to select for each cell to be switched a data path through one or the other of the switch fabric according to the availability determined.

摘要: A method and apparatus provide for monitoring radio frequency signals and, in conjunction with the monitoring, determining frequency of a received dominant radio frequency signal. Zero amplitude transitions of the signal are counted in primary and secondary sampling periods to determine frequency and frequency stability. The method and apparatus can be used to tune to radio frequency signals having frequencies in a list of frequencies to be monitored and detecting signals in the radio frequency spectrum on other frequencies. The monitoring and scanning may occur simultaneously, sequentially, or in any order or sequence. The frequencies of dominant signals received are determined and added to the list for monitoring. The receiver may be tuned to a frequency determined immediately upon determination of the frequency determined, after storage of the frequency determined, only after a signal on the currently monitored frequency terminates, or upon other conditions. A user of the apparatus can build a list of frequencies to be monitored automatically without sophisticated knowledge or equipment.

摘要: A fastener for removably mounting a housing to a shelf includes a base having an upper surface and a lower surface adapted for connection to a bottom panel of the housing at an edge portion of the housing. The base includes a front edge and a portion extending from the front edge which is turned under the base and is disposed spaced apart from the base and adjacent to a lower surface of the base to form a spring clip. The clip engages an edge portion of the shelf between the lower surface of the base and the portion extending from the base front edge.

摘要: A computer-implemented method and system for providing customized information from a content provider to a plurality of recipients. A content provider first ranks, via a content provider interface provided via a first computer server, a selected portion of the recipients into at least two separate tiers of recipients based upon a predetermined criteria. The content provider, generates, at the first computer server and via the content provider interface, customized information for transmission to the recipients. The content provider also generates, at the first computer server and via the content provider interface, associated information related to the customized information for each separate tier. Finally, the customized information and the respective associated information is transmitted to each tier of recipients. Preferably, the customized information comprises information identifying particular financial instruments offered for sale. In addition, the associated information comprises pricing information for the particular financial instruments offered for sale.
