Abstract:
A method includes identifying a plurality of interactive graphical elements that are associated with a user account. Each interactive graphical element identifies a type of an application and provides access to the respective application. A history usage database is accessed for the user account. The history usage database includes access patterns for the plurality of interactive graphical elements at particular calendar times. A weighting value is assigned to one or more of the access patterns of the interactive graphical elements. A request to display the interactive graphical elements for the user account is received and in response, an ordering of the interactive graphical elements is produced. The ordering of the select ones of the interactive graphical elements is influenced, at least in part, based on the weighting value of the one or more access patterns and a current calendar time when the request is received.
Abstract:
Systems and methods that reproduce surround sound effects from an audio source are described. Wireless communication devices form a wireless network in which music, for example, can be played on the speakers of the wireless communication devices to reproduce surround sound effects from a selected audio source. As the wireless communication devices roam with respect to each other or with respect to a focal point or listening position of the wireless network, the wireless network adjusts how the audio source is played at each speaker of the respective wireless communication device to maintain or to enhance the reproduction of surround sound effects from the audio source.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media for presenting recommended content based on social cues are provided. In accordance with some embodiments, a method for presenting recommended content is provided comprising: receiving a query associated with a user; generating a list of relevant media content items based on the query; selecting items for presentation to the user based on social relevance scores based on social connections of the user that have consumed a relevant item and contextual relevance scores for each item; causing the selected items to be presented to the user; and indicating that a particular item was consumed by a particular social connection.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving, at a particular time, a user request for a graphical user interface comprising a plurality of interactive graphical elements that are associated with a user account of a user, each interactive graphical element identifies a type of an application and is selectable by the user to provide access to a corresponding application. The method further includes determining, for each of the plurality of interactive graphical elements, a relevance of a respective interactive graphical element to the user at the particular time based on one or more operations previously performed by the user with respect to the respective interactive graphical element close to the particular time within the user account, and causing a presentation of the plurality of interactive graphical elements for the user account using an ordering of the interactive graphical elements that is based on the relevance of each of the plurality of interactive graphical elements to the user at the particular time.

Abstract:
An aerial inspection system is provided, including an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) having an articulated arm coupled thereto. An end effector is coupled to a second end of the articulated arm, the end effector sized and shaped to extend at least partially around an aerial cable in close proximity. One or more sensors are positioned along an inner surface of the end effector, and provide feedback to a control unit. In response, the control unit adjusts a position of at least one of the UAV, the articulated arm, and the end effector such that the end effector maintains a close, non-contact position with respect to the cable.

Abstract:
Implementations generally relate to determining body measurements. In some implementations, a method includes receiving a plurality of images associated with a subject user. The method also includes generating a 3-dimensional composition of the subject user based on the images. The method also includes determining one or more initial body measurements based the 3-dimensional composition and one or more known reference dimensions. The method also includes modifying the one or more initial body measurements based on one or more modifying criteria.
Abstract:
A system and associated methods for providing electronically noted items are disclosed. The noting application includes a communication module, a determination module, a ranking module and a presentation module. The communication module receives a request for electronically noted items from a first user and user identification data identifying the first user. The determination module determines one or more second users related to the first user based at least in part on the user identification data. The determination module retrieves a first set of two or more electronically noted items marked by the one or more second users. The ranking module ranks the first set of two or more electronically noted items to generate a second set of two or more electronically noted items. The presentation module provides for display the second set of two or more electronically noted items to the first user.
