    摘要： A newspaper product or product section has at least one first quire and at least one second quire which is at least two pages in width. In the closed state, the at least two quires are arranged such that each is folded longitudinally along a longitudinal folding line, and lie one inside one another. The at least two quires have, next to one another, on both sides of the longitudinal fold line, two vertical printed pages or one printed image which is spread over two vertical printed pages. An inner one of at least two quires, which are at least two pages in width, has an outer region which can be folded open, at least on a longitudinal side of the longitudinally folded outer region which is at least two pages in width. The longitudinal side extends parallel to the longitudinal folding line. In the area of its lateral edge, the outer region, which can be folded open, is joined in a material-to-material manner, to the lateral edge region of the center region which is two pages in width. In the folded open state, the outer region protrudes beyond the width of the remaining product and continues the center region laterally. A method and apparatus for producing the product is described.
