摘要： A method of producing a liquid crystal display includes forming a plurality of black matrices on an insulating substrate to define first, second and third pixel regions, forming a color filter layer on the black matrices and on an exposed portion of the insulating substrate on which the black matrices are not formed, forming an organic layer for forming an upper spacer on the color filter layer, and forming a first color filter pattern on a first pixel region, lower spacers on the black matrices, and upper spacers on the lower spacers by at least substantially simultaneously patterning the color filter layer and the organic layer for forming an upper spacer.

摘要： A display device includes a first substrate including pixels and sensing electrodes corresponding with the pixels, and a second substrate facing the first substrate. The second substrate includes an organic layer with a black matrix dividing the pixels and a sensing spacer opposite to the sensing electrode. The organic layer including the black matrix and the sensing spacer may be formed in a single process using organic photoresist material. A mask includes a light-intercepting pattern including slits to block a portion of ultraviolet light emitted towards a photoresist layer to form the black matrix. The mask also includes a pattern to block ultraviolet light in a region corresponding to the sensing spacer if a negative type photoresist material is used, or the mask does not block ultraviolet light in the region corresponding to the sensing spacer if a positive type photoresist material is used.

The light-blocking and maintaining element is between the color filter layers adjacent to each other, and on the bottom supporting layer. The light-blocking and maintaining element includes a light blocking portion, and a maintaining portion which overlaps the bottom supporting layer and protrudes from the light blocking portion.
