Abstract: A method of making a pleated decorative fabric in which a length of light and relatively sheer fabric woven from natural fiber yarns first is shirred adjacent to one end thereof in the direction of the fabric weft to reduce the fabric width by a factor of about one third, then is treated to remove the yarn size as by washing in a detergent and rinsing, then is wrung around an axis extending in the direction of the fabric warp and finally is dried to produce the desired pleated fabric.
