Abstract: A virus detection system uses a USB relay device that can support not only the use of USB mass storage but also the use of other USB devices such as a mouse. The USB relay device has a connection switching unit for switching a connection state between a first connector unit to which a USB client is connected and a second connector unit connected to a USB host controller. The virus detection system includes a virus check engine unit that performs a virus check of a file acquired from the USB client or the USB host controller via the USB relay device. On the basis of a result of the check by the virus check engine unit, the USB relay device performs switching control of the connection state by the connection switching unit.

Abstract: A USB management system using a USB relay device includes a management terminal having a management database for recording management information of a USB client registered in advance. The USB relay device has a connection switching unit for switching a connection state between a first connector portion to which the USB client is connected and a second connector portion which is connected to a USB host controller. When the USB client is connected to the first connector portion, the USB relay device reads management information of the USB client and transmits the management information to the management terminal, and the management terminal inquires of the management database about the management information of the USB client transmitted from the USB relay device, compares the management information with the management information of the USB client registered in advance, and determines the connection state by the connection switching unit.

Abstract: It is difficult to assign a unified index to log data accumulated and managed at individual systems with, for example, different installation ranges and times, a compliance standard, and vendors. Accordingly, it is burdensome to trace a flow of data and operations from the accumulated log data. Furthermore, if granularity of data which are output to logs differs, there is a possibility that data which can hardly be understood or are unnecessary depending on a user might be included even if all the logs are presented to the user. A log is linked to a sequence across nodes and systems by means of a combination of partial link information. Information is presented according to granularity based on the user's view, for example, on a transmitted and received data basis, application data basis, and inter-system data basis by referring to, for example, application data definition information and system configuration information.
