Abstract: An example of storage system obtains a reference request of a reference request data block that is included in the content and is stored in the medium area. The storage system determines a number of gaps among addresses, in the medium area, of a plurality of data blocks continuous in the content including the reference request data block. The storage system determines, based on the number of gaps, whether or not defrag based on the plurality of data blocks is valid. The storage system writes, when the defrag is determined to be valid, the plurality of data blocks read from the medium area to the memory area, into continuous address areas of the medium area.

Abstract: A control server checks whether a resource necessary for process execution is present in a computer system. The control server determines that generating a placement plan is possible when relative guarantee is possible, the relative guarantee guaranteeing a guarantee volume that is at least an absolute resource volume and, if possible, guaranteeing a resource volume reaching an upper limit volume, for a reservation acceptance limit, and starts generating the placement plan. In a period between right after the start of generation of the placement plan and right before permission to selection/approval of the proposed placement plan, the control server makes a reservation with relative guarantee that for the resource and the reservation acceptance limit, makes the guarantee volume and the upper limit volume for the resource volume of the resource different respectively from the guarantee volume and the upper limit volume for the reservation acceptance limit.

Abstract: Appropriate management of transfer of data generated in real time from an area where handling of data is regulated to the outside is enabled. A storage computer manages transfer of data from a transfer source belonging to an environment where handling of data is regulated to an external transfer destination. Data to be transferred is sequential transfer data sequentially transferred to the outside when the data is not wholly present in the environment. The storage computer includes a memory storing information and CPU connected to the memory and capable of performing predetermined processing. Permissibility of transfer of the data to be transferred to a transfer destination is determined by the CPU based on: personal information included in a data source on which the data to be transferred is based; contents of processing performed on the data source; and an execution result of the processing on the data source.
