Abstract: Preparation of vinyl esters of carboxylic acids in the gaseous phase by reacting ethylene, oxygen and carboxylic acids at elevated temperatures in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a salt of a noble metal of the eighth group of the periodic system and 0.01 to 200 g. cadmium in the form of a cadmium salt of a carboxylic acid, this catalyst being supported on a carrier.
