Abstract:
The present disclosure includes a method, article of manufacture, and system for averting an overweight landing of an aircraft having a maximum landing weight (MLW). The method, article, and system may comprise, mutatis mutandis, determining a flight plan, receiving sensor data, determining, in response to the sensor data, that a predetermined event has occurred, receiving, in response to the predetermined event, an updated destination, computing, aircraft weight at the updated destination (WAD), comparing the WAD to the MLW, and/or generating, in response to the sensor data, an updated flight plan when the WAD exceeds the MLW.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for guiding or otherwise assisting energy management of an aircraft radar vectoring en route to a runway. A method involves determining a predicted lateral trajectory for the radar vectoring in accordance with interception criteria, wherein the lateral trajectory comprises a sequence of segments for satisfying the interception criteria from a current location of the aircraft and each navigational segment of the sequence is associated with an anticipated aircraft heading assignment. The method determines a reference vertical trajectory corresponding to the lateral trajectory, determines a target value for an energy state parameter of the aircraft at the current location on the lateral trajectory using the reference vertical trajectory, and provides indication of a recommended action to reduce a difference between a current value for the energy state parameter and the target value.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for an aircraft entering a terminal radar approach control (TRACON) airspace to identify a number of feasible target traffic for a paired approach for the aircraft. Traffic data is filtered to identify a plurality of neighbor traffic that are entering the TRACON airspace or within the TRACON airspace when the aircraft is entering the TRACON airspace and estimating, concurrently, for each neighbor traffic of the plurality of neighbor traffic: a trajectory, a traffic arrival time at an ideal location for a respective paired approach with the aircraft, a spacing interval between the neighbor traffic and the aircraft for the respective paired approach, and a respective target location for the aircraft to begin the respective paired approach, as a function of the spacing interval. Based on the estimations, the method identifies feasible, marginally feasible, and infeasible targets, and displays this information in an intuitive lateral display.
