Abstract: The cut-resistant yarn structure (130,170) comprises a core-spun yarn (135) comprising a first cut-resistant core filament (132) and staple fibers (134) spun over the first cut-resistant core filament (132), a covering yarn (139) comprising a second cut-resistant core filament (136) and a first covering layer (138) wound over the second cut-resistant core filament (136), where the first covering layer (138) comprises a first filament and a second covering layer (140) wound over the core-spun yarn (135) and the covering yarn (139), where the second covering layer (140) comprises a second filament. The cut-resistant composite yarn structure can be used to manufacture cut-resistant cloth which may in turn be used to manufacture cut-resistant garments such as cut-resistant gloves, cut-resistant sleeves and other cut-resistant garments.

Abstract: Apparatuses and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide for an anti-bacterial fiber. The method of manufacturing includes adding a ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene structure into an extrusion device. The method of manufacturing also includes providing an anti-bacterial low-density polyethylene (LDPE) into the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene at a predetermined temperature to create a combined filament. The method of manufacturing further includes passing the combined filament through a bath. The bath is configured for coagulating the combined filament and extracting a solvent. The method of manufacturing still further includes drying the combined filament via an oven. The method of manufacturing also includes hot-drawing the combined filament. The combined filament is heated during the hot-drawing within the oven and the combined filament generated has anti-bacterial qualities. A corresponding anti-bacterial fiber is also provided.

Abstract: The invention provides 3D-knitted spacer fabrics of high breathability and moisture management and methods of making the 3D-knitted spacer fabrics. The middle layer of the fabric is made of hydrophilic material, comprising two yarns, a blended thermo-fuse wicking yarn comprising hydrophilic fiber and thermo-fuse fiber, and a non-supportive hydrophilic functional wicking yarn. The top layer of the fabric comprises a hydrophilic yarn, and the third layer of the fabric comprises a hydrophobic yarn. The 3D-knitted spacer fabrics are useful in clothing and equipment for wear in high temperature environments.

Abstract: Apparatuses and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide for cut-resistant yarn structures. An example cut-resistant yarn structure includes a first cut-resistant core filament a second cut-resistant core filament. The yarn structure further includes a first covering yarn that is wound over the first cut-resistant core filament and the second cut-resistant core filament. The first covering yarn includes a core-spun yarn in which staple fibers are spun over a third cut-resistant core filament. The yarn structure also includes one or more covering layers wound over the first covering yarn that may serve as the exterior layer for the cut-resistant yarn structure. In some instances, the first and second cut-resistant core filaments include a core-spun yarn in which staple fibers are spun over the first cut-resistant core filament and/or the second cut-resistant core filament.
