    Abstract: A security system may include a home security system that is connected to a remote monitoring service as well as a portable security device that can travel with an individual when they are away from home. The portable security device may communicate with the same monitoring service as the home security system, and may in fact be linked to the same user account as that used for their home security system. The home security system may thus be extended to cover a remote location. In some cases, occupants of an individual's home may be notified via the home security system of alert conditions detected by the portable security device at the remote location. Likewise, occupants of the remote location may be notified via the portable security device of alert conditions detected in the home by the home security system.

    Abstract: An alarm or intrusion monitoring system includes a plurality of detectors which communicate with a displaced control element.
