Abstract:
Presented herein is a system and method for graphically displaying aircraft traffic information. The system comprises an Operating Company Symbology database and a display system coupled to a processor that is configured to (1) receive traffic information; (2) determine the Operating Company Symbology from the received traffic information; (3) receive a selection of an aircraft or traffic information including at least one of the Flight ID, Operating Company, or Surface Traffic; (4) graphically render aircraft symbology and the associated traffic information on the display.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for increasing vertical situational awareness when the display of intruder aircraft on a vertical situation display (VSD) is restricted to a specific region of the VSD as determined by an altitude filter. The method comprises displaying a first altitude filter limit line on the VSD.
Abstract:
A flight display system or method in accordance with this disclosure involves the presentation, on an aircraft, of a “quick preview” notice to airmen (“NOTAM”) display that includes a plurality of stacked flight route portion boxes, each of the plurality of flight route portion boxes pertaining to and being labeled as one of: a departure taxiing portion, a standard instrument departure portion, an en route portion, a standard terminal arrival route portion, an approach portion, and an arrival taxiing portion; each of the plurality of flight route portion boxes graphically displaying flight route symbology pertaining to and labeled as each airport taxiing reference point and/or each aeronautical waypoint that falls within its labeled flight route portion; and wherein at least one of the plurality of flight route portion boxes further graphically displays NOTAM symbology pertaining to at least one of the NOTAMs that are relevant to the flight route.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for graphically displaying up-linked and down-linked messages on an aircraft cockpit display. After determining if the message was up-linked or down-linked, symbology graphically representative of whether the message was up-linked or down-linked is generated and displayed along with the message content. The message content may be an altitude change request for display on a VSD.

Abstract:
A display system and method are provided for displaying a plurality of vehicles, including receiving information via a data link unit from a controlling agency, the information including a vehicle manufacturer, a vehicle model, a vehicle owner, a vehicle position, and a vehicle category. The plurality of vehicles is displayed and one of the vehicles associated with the information is emphasized on the display. Furthermore, one or more of the images resembling the vehicle and resembling the airline logo may be displayed.
Abstract:
Presented herein is a system and method for graphically displaying intruder aircraft symbology on an avionics display system onboard a host aircraft. The method comprises receiving data from the intruder aircraft, determining the reference altitude of the intruder aircraft, displaying intruder symbology on the display, and generating symbology on the display to visually distinguish the intruder symbology when the barosetting of the intruder is not substantially equal to the barosetting of the host aircraft.
