    Abstract: A method in an aircraft for the validation of variable data is provided. The method comprises: receiving a request from an application program to retrieve data attributes for at least one data item to be entered via a GUI provided by the application program; requesting, from the flight management engine using an API, the data attributes for the at least one data item, wherein the data attributes identify at least one limit for data entry for the at least one data item including a minimum and/or maximum value for the at least one data item; receiving the requested data attributes from the flight management engine; and transmitting the data attributes to the application program; wherein the application program restricts data entry for the at least one data item in conformance with each limit provided by the data attributes for the at least one data item.

    Abstract: Vehicle systems and methods are provided for updating vehicle systems in response to an update event at one of the vehicle systems, such as, for example, an update at a flight management system (FMS) of an aircraft. One method involves the FMS obtaining event data from an external source indicative of an update event, updating flight data at the FMS to an updated state based at least in part on the event data, and then adding the event data to an event queue after updating the flight data at the FMS to the updated state. One or more other vehicle systems can asynchronously retrieve the event data from the event queue and independently update in response to the event data.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for flight management to configure an aircraft configuration (config) file accessible by the avionic system wherein an avionic service is implemented by a flight management system (FMS) for corroborating allowance of access using one of a set of validation procedures for corroboration prior to execution of a request for content to the config file including validating that a user request for a session is authorized based on user identification data, that a client request by an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) application for a session is authorized based on client identification data, and in response to the client request, determining that an EFB application request is encrypted and performing a decrypt procedure of the EFB application request based on private key data of a private key; and encrypting an EFB application response based on public key data of a public key from the config file.

    Abstract: A keyboard module configured for use in an avionics touchscreen system is disclosed. The keyboard module is configured to display, via a visual display in the avionics touchscreen system and responsive to a selection of an application program generated widget for focus via a touchscreen surface in the avionics touchscreen system, a virtual keyboard. The virtual keyboard includes a text box widget configured to display clip data stored in clipboard memory provided by the avionics touchscreen system, a copy widget configured to cause data in a first widget provided by the application program that is in focus to be copied to the clipboard memory, and a paste widget configured to cause the clip data in the clipboard memory and displayed in the text box widget to be pasted to a second widget provided by the application program that is in focus.
