    Abstract: A display system includes a display device and a processing system. The display device includes at least one display region. The processing system receives motion data indicative of relative motion between the display device and images, viewed by a user, on or through the at least one display region. The processing system supplies visual cue commands that cause only a first visual cue to be generated on or adjacent to the left peripheral side and only a second visual cue to be generated on or adjacent to the right peripheral side or only the first visual cue to be generated on or adjacent to the top peripheral side and only the second visual cue to be generated on or adjacent to the bottom peripheral side, and to selectively vary either the positions of the first and second visual cues, or the positions of the first and second visual cues.

    Abstract: A method and system for providing playback of air traffic control (ATC) communications for a pilot of an aircraft has been developed. First, an audio communication is received from the ATC for the pilot of the aircraft. The audio communication is segmented into three separate audio channels including: a raw channel of the audio communication as received, an enhanced channel of a filtered version of the audio communication, and a synthesized channel of a speech synthesized version of the audio communication. An identification function identifies segments of each audio communication with reference to identifying data for the aircraft. The separate audio channels are then stored in an electronic memory for later retrieval by the pilot of the aircraft.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for mitigating user input errors due to perturbances of mobile platforms. The systems may include, one or more sensors configured to sense measurable conditions internal or external to a mobile platform, and a controller in operable communication with the sensors and with a touchscreen display. The controller may be configured to, by one or more processors: receive sensor data from the sensors, process the sensor data to detect and characterize a perturbance, receive user input data indicative of user input performed by a user via the touchscreen display, process the user input data to determine whether the user input is likely to be invalid due to the perturbance, and initiate a corrective action in response to a determination that the user input is likely to be invalid due to the perturbance.

    Abstract: A system and method for providing targeted crowd-based acoustic-prosodic and linguistic accommodation includes simultaneously detecting, with a multimedia device, individual facial images of a plurality of individuals and acoustic sounds from the plurality of individuals. Message data representative of an audible message supplied to the plurality of individuals is supplied to the processing system, the message data. In the processing system: a plurality of facial features and a plurality of acoustic-related features are extracted from the multimedia data; the facial features and the acoustic-related features are processed to determine an aggregate emotional state of the plurality of individuals; one or more acoustic-prosodic features of the audible message and/or a content of the audible message are selectively manipulated based on the determined aggregate emotional state of the plurality of individuals to generate an updated audible message; and the updated audible message is output.
