Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a concentration of exhaust hydrogen in a fuel cell system. The apparatus may include an air exhaust valve for discharging hydrogen from a cathode in a fuel cell stack to an outside environment through an air exhaust line, an air compressor for supplying ambient air to the air exhaust line, an air cut-off valve for blocking air supplied to the cathode, and a controller that opens the air exhaust valve and drives the air compressor when starting to supply hydrogen to the fuel cell stack, and opens the air cut-off valve such that a concentration of the hydrogen discharged from the cathode is reduced by air in the air exhaust line when the hydrogen supply is completed.

Abstract: A cooling control system includes: a fuel cell stack formed with a cooling flow path in which hydrogen and oxygen are received and reacted, respectively, and coolant flows between separators; a coolant circulation line connected with the cooling flow path of the fuel cell stack, and having the coolant flowing therein; a cooling pump connected to the coolant circulation line to circulate the coolant to cool the fuel cell stack; a heat generation amount estimator for estimating the heat generation amount of the fuel cell stack; a coolant estimator for estimating an amount of the coolant to cool the fuel cell stack based on the heat generation amount of the fuel cell stack; and a driving controller for controlling the operation of the cooling pump based on the estimated amount of the coolant.

Abstract: A hydrogen supply method for a fuel cell system, for supplying hydrogen according to a state of the fuel cell system when the fuel cell system is started, includes steps of (a) measuring a stop time period which elapses until the fuel cell system is started after the fuel cell system is stopped, (b) determining whether a reaction time period consumed to complete a reaction of residual hydrogen and residual oxygen residing in a fuel cell stack since the fuel system is stopped is not more than the stop time period, and (c) when it is determined in the step (b) that the stop time period is less than the reaction time period, closing a purge valve that is able to discharge gases accommodated in an anode from the anode and supplying at the same time hydrogen to the anode such that an internal pressure of the anode becomes a predetermined first target pressure.
