Abstract: A stand mixer includes a securing apparatus configured to retain a bowl on a stand mixer, the securing apparatus incudes a leaf spring mounted to a bowl support at a first end portion of the leaf spring. The leaf spring extends away from the column to a second end portion of the leaf spring and defines a receiving orifice at the second end portion of the leaf spring. A retractor is configured to translate a bolt away from the second end portion of the leaf spring when a bowl support is in the nonmixing position. An extender is configured to translate the bolt toward the second end portion of the leaf spring when the bowl support is in the mixing position.

Abstract: An indoor smoker includes a cabinet including an exhaust duct, a smoking chamber, a firebox, and a bypass duct extending between the firebox and the exhaust duct. A damper is movable between a first position for closing the smoking chamber when a firebox temperature is outside a desired range and a second position for blocking the bypass duct when the firebox temperature is within the desired range. The damper thus regulates the flow of smoke such that only good smoke is directed into the smoking chamber, while bad smoke is routed directly to the exhaust duct.

Abstract: An indoor smoker includes a cabinet defining a discharge vent, a smoking chamber having a chamber outlet, and an exhaust assembly including an exhaust duct and a recirculation duct providing fluid communication between the chamber outlet and the discharge vent. An air handler urges a flow of smoke through a catalytic converter positioned within the exhaust duct to lower volatile organic compounds prior to discharging the smoke. A recirculation port may be defined between the recirculation duct and the exhaust duct upstream of the catalytic converter and a damper may direct the flow of smoke through the recirculation port when the smoke contains unacceptable levels of volatile organic compounds.

Abstract: An appliance and method of operation is provided. The appliance may include an outer casing, a user interface, and a controller. The outer casing may define an enclosed volume. The user interface may be mounted to the outer casing to include a light projector and a translucent diffuser disc. The light projector may be positioned within the enclosed volume and include a plurality of discrete segmented light emitting diodes to each selectively emit one or more discrete light emissions. The translucent diffuser disc may be positioned between the light projector and the outer casing. The diffuser disc may include a continuous outer surface aligned with the light projector to display the one or more discrete light emissions as a visually continuous pattern. The controller may be operably connected with the light projector and configured to determine the visually continuous pattern displayed at the continuous outer surface.

Abstract: A wood burning grill includes a cabinet that defines a coal support platform for supporting burning wood during a grilling process. A grate is positioned above the coal support platform and a grate positioning assembly mechanically couples the grate to the cabinet. The grate positioning assembly includes two four-bar linkage systems positioned on opposite sides of the grate for suspending the grate in cantilevered manner from the cabinet. Each four-bar linkage system includes a drive arm that is mechanically coupled to the drive gear and a support arm that maintains the grate in a substantially horizontal orientation while moving between the raised position and the lowered position. A hand wheel is rotatably mounted to the cabinet and is coupled to the drive gear through a rotating shaft and a worm gear such that rotating the hand wheel moves the grate between the raised position and the lowered position.
