Abstract:
A combination of a dental restoration and a plurality of attachment members is disclosed. The dental restoration includes a plurality of support members configured to be releasably attached to an attachment member. Each attachment member includes a first support surface facing in the coronal direction of the attachment member for supporting a corresponding support member, and a second support surface facing in the apical direction of the attachment member and towards the longitudinal axis of the support member and being configured for engagement with a support surface of a dental fixture. Each attachment member includes an attachment portion at a coronal portion for receiving a fastening member for releasably attaching one of the support members. The first support surface has an angle relative the longitudinal axis of the attachment member measured from its apical towards its coronal end that is larger than a corresponding angle of the second support surface.
Abstract:
A method of calibrating optical components in a light-based touch screen, including providing (i) a display, (ii) a row of light pulse emitters that sequentially transmit light pulses over the display according to calibrated pulse current and pulse duration controls, and (iii) a row of light pulse receivers that receive the light pulses and that output values representing the received light pulses, each receiver having expected values for emitter-receiver pairs when the light pulses are not blocked, determining if each receiver output value for a receiver-emitter pair is within a respective designated range from the corresponding receiver expected value, and when a receiver output value for a receiver-emitter pair is outside the designated range, recalibrating the emitter, including adjusting at least one of the emitter pulse current and pulse duration such that subsequent receiver output values are within the designated range, and updating the receiver expected value for the receiver-emitter pair based on subsequent output values of the receiver.
Abstract:
An arc detector for detecting undesired arcs. The arc detector includes: an antenna for receiving an electromagnetic signal representing an arc; and a discriminator for analyzing a signal from the antenna, the discriminator including a spectrum analyzer arranged to detect whether the signal represents a normal arc or an undesired arc. The discriminator is arranged to detect whether the signal represents a normal arc or an undesired arc by comparing signal levels at frequencies of a spectrum of the signal corresponding to at least one partial reference spectrum, and determining the arc to be a normal arc if a deviation from the reference spectrum is less than a threshold deviation. A corresponding method is also presented.
Abstract:
A pressure-sensitive touch screen including a housing, at least one light receiver rigidly mounted in the housing, a display flexibly mounted in the housing substantially above the at least one receiver, which depresses in response to pressure of a touch, and a calculating unit connected to the at least one light receiver for receiving outputs indicating amounts of received light by the at least one receiver, and for determining that the display is being depressed based on an increase in an output of the at least one receiver.
Abstract:
A method of attaching a component to a substrate, including providing a component guide attached to a substrate, the component guide having a cavity substantially conforming to contours of a portion of a component, attaching a first solder pad to the component, inserting the component into the guide cavity, providing a second solder pad, offset from the first solder pad and near the cavity, and inserting the component, the component guide and the substrate into an oven heating the solder pads, wherein the component is drawn further into the guide cavity by a capillary effect of the heated solder pads.
Abstract:
A high voltage bushing including an elongated electric conductor, a tubular insulator surrounding the conductor, and cooling mechanism for cooling the conductor. The cooling mechanism includes at least one cooling element extending along a fraction of the length of the conductor and in thermal connection with the conductor.
Abstract:
A drill is used on a jaw bone with overlying soft tissue and underlying, more solid bone. The drill comprises a first portion which is provided with one or more first cutting edges and with a first width or diameter. Arranged behind the first portion there is a second portion which is provided with one or more second cutting edges and with a second diameter exceeding the first width or diameter. The first portion can cooperate with soft tissues to form an initial hole, and the second portion can cooperate with the soft tissue and the more solid bone in order to enlarge said hole and create a countersunk hole in the more solid bone. The first portion is also depicted to cooperate with the more solid bone, during the second portion's formation of the countersunk hole, in order to provide a guidance hole or marker hole in the bottom of the countersink.
Abstract:
A device for chip removing machining includes first and second parts coupled together, wherein one of the parts includes a cutting edge. A coupling between the first and second parts includes two interacting surfaces and a clamp for forcing the surfaces together. The surfaces are profiled with male and female members, respectively, that are intercoupled to establish a form locking of the first and second parts against each other. The first and second parts are provided with central holes for receiving the clamp. The male and female members are configured to define only a single position of intercoupling.

Abstract:
A wall saw includes a saw head which is displaceable longitudinally on a running rail and has a swivelable saw arm and a saw blade with cutting elements which is detachably fastened to the saw arm. The saw blade is rotatable by means of a drive unit which is mounted on the saw arm and which communicates with a drive arrangement. The saw blade is fastened to the saw arm via a coupling formed of two flange halves (11,17) which slide one inside the other and which can be connected with one another in a detachable manner, one flange half (11) being fastened to the flat side of the saw blade facing the saw arm and the second flange half (17) being arranged at the saw arm.
