摘要： A mouse interface converter is provided, which allows a mouse to be connectable to a computer system, such as a personal computer (PC), installed with either an RS-232 serial port or a PS/2 port. This mouse interface converter allows the mouse to be connected directly to PS/2 port and via an adapter to RS-232 serial port. The mouse interface converter includes a mode-detection circuit for detecting which type of port the mouse is currently being connected. The mode-detection circuit can generate a mode-indicating signal indicative of the type of the currently connected port, which is then used to set a control circuit to convert the mouse data to the corresponding format. The mouse interface converter further includes a driving circuit that allows the mouse to be more compatible with various signals of either the PS/2 port or the RS-232 serial port. This feature allows the mouse to be considerably reduced in power consumption that allows the mouse to be suitable for use on notebook computers.

摘要： A roller function switching method is used between a mouse device and a computer system operated with a browser program. Firstly, the computer system is operated in a roller function switching mode. Then, the computer system controls the browser program to change a browsing page in response to a directional rolling signal generated by rotating the roller of the mouse device in a first function state. Afterward, the computer system controls the browser program to scroll the browsing page in response to the directional rolling signal generated by rotating the roller of the mouse device in a second function state. The roller function is switched between the first function state and the second function state in response to a function state switching signal generated by the operation of the mouse device.

摘要： A wireless remote control device includes a housing, a power connector, a rechargeable battery, a charging circuit, a button device and a wireless remote control main circuit. The housing has a size smaller than a PC-card slot of the personal computer to be inserted into the PC-card slot. The power connector is electrically connected to a socket of the PC-card slot when the housing is inserted into the PC-card slot. The charging circuit is used for charging the rechargeable battery with the electricity obtained from the portable computer via the power connector. The button device is disposed outside the housing to be actuated by a user. The wireless remote control main circuit is electrically connected to the button device and the rechargeable battery for generating wireless signals to control the portable computer in response to user's actuation with the rechargeable battery serving as a power supply.
