A stiffener (50) having a pair of transverse flanges (504, 508) and a pair of discrete longitudinal sidewall (506) is disposed around the housing. A load plate (60) is pivotally attached to one of the flange for downwardly pressing a land grid array package seated on the terminals toward the housing. A lever (70) is moveably coupled to the other flange for locking the load plate in position.

摘要: An IC socket includes a plurality of terminals (7) arranged in a matrix defined by row and column directions perpendicular to each other. The terminal includes a contact arm (73) extending from a middle portion of the terminal. The contact arm includes a first resilient arm (731) extending essentially towards the row direction in a first direction, from a top view, and a second resilient arm (733) angled with the first resilient arm and extending essentially towards the row direction in a second direction, from the top view, different from the first direction. Since the second resilient arm extends essentially toward the row direction, rather than parallel to the row direction, and a larger recess is formed between respective resilient arms of adjacent terminals in a same row, there will not be apt to form a short circuit between any portions of the first lower resilient arm and the second upper resilient arm.

摘要: A land grid array (LGA) connector (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an insulative housing (2), a stiffener (3) coupled to the housing, and a plurality of ribs (23) projecting from a periphery edge of the housing. The stiffener defines an opening (31) for surrounding the housing. Each of the ribs has a base defining a mating surface (2321) and a mounting surface (2312). The stiffener is coupled to the housing by the rib mating surface abutting against a wall face (32) of the stiffener opening, and the rib mounting surface resting on a peripheral edge (320) of the stiffener that defines the opening. As such, a reliable coupling between the stiffener and the housing is achieved, thereby having no possibility of releasing the housing from the stiffener by an external, improper force.

摘要: An electrical connector (100) for connecting an electronic module (8) with a printed circuit board includes an insulative housing (1) defining a receiving space (12), a number of contacts (2) received in the housing and a cover (3) attached to the housing. The housing forms a base (10) and a pair of lateral walls (11) extending from the base. Each lateral wall has an end portion (112) away from and opposite to the base. The cover is assembled to the end portions of the lateral walls of the housing and is capable of moving from an unlocking position to a locking position. The connector also has a pair of metal ears (5) retained in the housing and can be driven to move into the receiving space and abut against the electronic module when the connector is in the locking position.
