摘要: In one embodiment the present invention provides a wireless communication system for medical sensor data. This communications system includes a portable unit that connects to a wireless sensor and a monitor unit that connects to a sensor monitor. Once activated, the units will self organize into a wireless communication structure controlled by the portable unit. As other pairs of units activate, they can self-organize their transmissions by joining an existing network or by creating new networks.

摘要: In one embodiment, the present invention provides a wireless communication system for use with a blood pressure monitor system. The wireless communication system includes a portable unit that connects to a typical pressure transducer and a monitor interface unit that connects to a typical vital signs monitor. The portable unit obtains a pressure reading from the transducer by providing an excitation voltage to the transducer, then wirelessly transmitting the pressure data to the monitor interface unit. The monitor interface unit measures the excitation voltage supplied by the vital signs monitor to supply the pressure reading in a format recognizable by the vital signs monitor.

摘要: An elongate tubular body extends between a rotatable cutter and a control. The cutter is connected to the control with a rotatable element. A vacuum is applied through an annular passage defined between the tubular body and the rotatable element. The tubular body has a sufficiently small outside diameter and sufficient kink resistance and pushability to navigate through arteries such as the internal carotid artery.

摘要: A single or multilumen intravenous catheter that may include an integral biosensor having an active portion exposed through a sensing port formed in a distal portion of an outer wall of the catheter. The biosensor may be formed on a flex circuit mounted to a support member or probe that displaces the active portion from an inner wall of the catheter for protection from friction during installation through a lumen. The support member or probe may position the biosensor concentrically within the lumen or against an inner diameter of the outer wall. The biosensor may be sealed about the sensing port to prevent passage of fluid therethrough, or a proximal end of the sensing port may remain open to allow flushing of the biosensor with saline infused through the lumen.
