摘要： An apparatus including: an image forming portion; a recording-material transporting member; a cleaning portion; a fixing portion equipped with a fixing member coated with a mold release agent; and a controller. The apparatus can perform two-sided copying by transferring and fixing an image on a first surface of recording material, and then transferring and fixing an image on an opposite surface. A cleaning blade in the cleaning portion abuts the recording material transport means and a normal line of a surface of the cleaning blade is substantially directed to a gravity direction, and faces an upstream side of an abutting portion of the cleaning blade in a transportation direction of the recording-material transporting member, wherein the surface of the cleaning blade facing an upstream side of an abutting position in a transportation direction faces a direction opposite to the gravity direction.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming portion for forming an image; a transferring material conveying belt for conveying a transferring material toward the image forming portion; a driving roller for driving the transferring material conveying belt; a driven roller over which the transferring material conveying belt is looped; and a transferring portion for transferring the image formed by the image forming portion to the transferring material. The transferring material conveying belt is wound and stretched between the driven roller and the driving roller. A rotational axis of the driven roller is different from a rotational axis of the driving roller. Further, a surface of the driven roller includes a layer which has a coefficient of friction lower than a coefficient of friction of a surface of the driving roller.

摘要： A control apparatus for controlling an image forming system is provided. The image forming system includes transparent toner image forming device configured to form a transparent toner image on a sheet on which a color toner image has been fixed and includes fixing device configured to fix the transparent toner image formed on the sheet. The control apparatus includes an obtaining means for obtaining information of a first part of a color toner image area on which transparent toner is to be applied with a first amount per unit area after the color toner image is fixed, and a control means for controlling the transparent toner image forming device to apply the transparent toner, with a second amount per unit area, on a second part of the color toner image area which is the color toner image area excluding the first part, after the color toner image is fixed. The second amount is smaller than the first amount.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus, an image forming condition is changed depending on whether or not a recording material on which a toner image is formed is ordinary high gloss paper or thermoplastic resin coated paper. More specifically, in the case where a high gloss mode is selected during image formation, judgement whether or not the high gloss paper is the ordinary high gloss paper or the thermoplastic resin coated paper is made. In the former case, a screen line number is set to 150 lpi, and in the latter case, the screen line number is set to 200 lpi. As a result, image failure due to collapse of a toner layer (during fixation) on the ordinary high gloss paper is prevented and high-quality toner image is formed on the thermoplastic resin coated paper.
