摘要： A method for efficiently updating system information of a base station at a relay station of a broadband wireless access system and an apparatus for performing the method are disclosed. The method for updating system information of an advanced base station (ABS) at an advanced relay station (ARS) of a broadband wireless access system comprises receiving a first message, which includes changed information of the system information of the base station, from the base station; transmitting a second message for acknowledgment of the first message to the base station; and performing application for the changed information.

摘要： The present system relates to a broadband wireless access system, and more specifically to a method whereby resources for ranging are efficiently allocated to a mobile station with reference to the status of the mobile station, and also relates to a device for implementing the same. In one example of the present invention, the method for allowing a mobile station to range on a broadband wireless access system may comprise the steps of: selecting any one code from one or more codes contained in a ranging code subset corresponding to the status of a mobile station in one or more ranging codes subsets set in accordance with the purpose of the ranging by the mobile station mode; and transmitting the selected code to a base station.

The location method includes receiving a message including femto Base Station (BS) list information from a macro base station, receiving a preamble including an IDentifier (ID) of a first femto BS from the first femto BS during a predetermined interval, and updating a location to the first femto BS, if the ID of the femto BS is identical to one of IDs included in the femto BS list information. The femto BS list information may include IDs of one or more femto BSs included in the macro BS.

摘要： A method and apparatus of operating a femto base station in a wireless communication system is provided. A first announcement message indicating service interruption is transmitted. A second announcement message indicating service recovery is transmitted. The second announcement message is transmitted to a user equipment or a macro base station having a wider cell area than the femto base station. Reliability of a communication service can be maintained for a user equipment even if a service of a femto base station is temporarily interrupted.
