    摘要: The present invention relates to a Domain Name System (DNS) server and a method for resolving DNS queries from a number of clients. The DNS server comprises multiple virtual DNS server instances servicing different clients. The DNS server further comprises a shared cache for caching records which indicate answers to resolved DNS queries. The shared cache is shared between a set of virtual DNS server instances. The virtual DNS server instances that share the shared cache are able to cache DNS query results in the shared cache as well as resolve a DNS query by retrieving a cached record corresponding to the DNS query from the shared cache. Thus it is possible for a virtual DNS server instance to make use of DNS query results obtained by other virtual DNS server instances.

    摘要: Method for establishing a traffic route for a mobile network node attached to a mobile router, wherein the mobile router has a plurality of upstream interfaces, by sending, from the mobile router to the mobile network node, identifiers of the interfaces and their properties; the identifiers are mapped to IPv6 traffic classes or IPv4 type of service. At the mobile network node, an interface is chosen based upon the identified interface properties. The traffic class or type of service field of at least certain outgoing packets includes the identifier of the chosen interface. At the mobile router, packets are routed across the interface corresponding to the identifier contained in the traffic class or type of service fields.

    摘要: A method of establishing a traffic route for a mobile network node attached to a mobile router, where the mobile router has a plurality of upstream interfaces available to it. The method comprises sending from the mobile router to the mobile node, identifiers of the interfaces and of their properties, the identifiers mapping to IPv6 traffic classes or IPv4 type of service. In the case of IPv6, the identifiers may be contained within router advertisement messages broadcast by the mobile router. At the mobile network node, an interface is chosen based upon the identified interface properties. The traffic class or type of service field of at least certain outgoing packets includes the identifier of the chosen interface. At the mobile router, packets are routed across the interface corresponding to the identifier contained in the traffic class or type of service fields, typically using rules created upon detection of a traffic class value in a packet header.

    摘要: A method of authenticating a mobile wireless terminal 9 in a mobile telecommunications network, the terminal 9 being a subscriber of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) 11 rather than of a mobile network. The terminal 9 is allocated an International Mobile Identity (IMI) which is transmitted from the terminal 9 to a mobile network when the terminal 9 wishes to register with the network. A country code part and an operator ID part of the IMI are used by the network to determine the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the terminal's home ISP 11, which is then contacted by the network over the Internet to authenticate the mobile terminal 9.
