    摘要: A bidirectional jarring tool that allows repetitive firing in one direction without firing the tool in the opposite direction. One of the tubular members provides up and down anvil surfaces, and the other member provides up and down hammer surfaces. Inner and outer tubular members define a hydraulic chamber with a restricted section that divides the chamber into an upper section and a lower section. Upper and lower pistons, each with a valved flow channel, reciprocate through the restricted section to produce up and down jarring impacts. When the restricted section is disposed between the upper and lower pistons, the tool is in a neutral position and can be jarred repetitively in either direction.

    摘要: An abrasive perforator tool with a bypass flow channel. The tool comprises a tubular body or housing with perforating nozzles in the sidewall. A sleeve assembly inside the central bore of the tool provides for sequential deployment of first and second sleeves. Prior to deployment of the sleeve assembly, pressurized fluid can be passed through the tool to operate other tools beneath the perforator in the bottom hole assembly. Deployment of the first sleeve diverts pressurized fluid through the nozzles for perforating. Deployment of the second sleeve redirects the pressurized flow through the outlet of the tool to resume operation of other tools below the perforator.

    摘要: A downhole inspection tool is attached to the lower end of a length of coiled tubing having an electrical/fiberoptic cable threaded through the center. The coiled tubing carries a flow of optically clear and/or acoustically homogeneous fluid from a supply of such fluid at the surface. The tool itself includes a cable head subassembly module attached to the lower end of the coiled tubing and terminates the electrical and optical conductors within the cable. An inspection module for producing an electrical signal indicative of downhole conditions is detachably connected to the lower end of the cable head assembly module. An outer flow tube is mechanically connected to the inspection module and surrounds both of the modules to define an annular space therebetween. The flow tube has its upper end fluid coupled to the coiled tubing for conducting the flow of the optically clear and/or acoustically homogeneous fluid down along the annular space and out the lower end of the tool to create a region conducive to inspection by the tool.

    摘要: A motor and rotor catch assembly for preventing loss of broken motor parts downhole. The assembly comprises a motor including a rotor supported inside a stator housing. A rotor bolt is connected to the upper end of the rotor, and is supported for axial movement within a rotor bolt housing from a running position to a deployed position. If the stator housing breaks or backs off, the attached rotor bolt shifts to the deployed position. In the deployed position, the bolt substantially reduces flow to the stator housing and simultaneously opens bypass ports to vent fluid to the annulus instead. In this way, the rotor is prevented from spinning rapidly, the diverted fluid creates a pressure change that alerts the operator to the motor failure, and the diverted fluid allows continued removal of debris and cuttings from the well bore.
