摘要: A depilation apparatus including a number of pinching discs (35) which are coupled to a drive shaft (7) in positions which are mutually rotated through 120.degree. about the drive shaft (7) is provided. Each pair of adjoining pinching discs (35) is pivotable under the influence of a compression member (83) into a pinching position in which two cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) exert a pinching force on one another. The pivot axis (113) of each pair of pinching discs (35) is determined by a stud part (55b) of a bipartite stud (55) of one of the two pinching discs (35) and by the mutually facing steps (41) of the two pinching discs (35). The cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) are supported on either side in the pinching position by the stud parts (55b) and (55a), respectively, of the bipartite studs (55) of the adjoining pinching discs (35), so that a substantially straight force transmission path is created in the pinching position. Each pair of cooperating pinching discs is provided with a delaying stud (59) by which the pinching position is temporarily delayed after tilting of the pinching discs (35) about the pivot axis (113). Furthermore, each pair of cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) is provided with two nose-shaped combs (73, 71) which are bent into a hair-trapping funnel.

摘要: A method facilitates assembling a gas turbine engine including a compressor and a rotor assembly coupled in axial flow communication downstream from the compressor. The method comprises coupling a bypass system in flow communication with the compressor to channel a portion of flow discharged from the compressor towards the rotor assembly is channeled through the bypass system, and coupling a downstream end of the bypass system within the gas turbine engine such that the flow entering the bypass system flows past the rotor assembly and is discharged downstream from the rotor assembly.

摘要: A turbofan engine includes in serial flow communication a first fan, second fan, multistage compressor, combustor, first turbine, second turbine, and third turbine. The first turbine is joined to the compressor by a first shaft. The second turbine is joined to the second fan by a second shaft. And, the third turbine is joined to the first fan by a third shaft. 摘要: A method for assembling a turbine engine to facilitate preventing ice accumulation on the turbine engine during engine operation. The method includes coupling a manifold to the gas turbine engine such that the manifold is coupled in thermal communication with a heat source, coupling a first heat pipe to the manifold such that the first heat pipe partially circumscribes the gas turbine engine in a clockwise orientation, and coupling a second heat pipe to the manifold such that the second heat pipe partially circumscribes the gas turbine engine in a counter-clockwise orientation.

摘要: An electric toothbrush comprising a toothbrush device (100) and a charge device (200) is operative to provide an accurate determination and an adequate indication of the duty performance of toothbrushing. The toothbrush device (100) comprises a supply unit (110), a control unit (120) and a driving portion (130). The control unit (120) is provided with a time-measuring portion (121) for measuring the duty time during toothbrushing, a pressure-measuring portion (122) for measuring the duty pressure during toothbrushing, a position-determining portion (124) for determining the duty position during toothbrushing and a computing portion (123) to compute a duty performance. An accurate determination of the duty performance is achieved in computing portion (123) which computes the duty performance in response of the duty time, the duty pressure and the duty position. "duty" time, pressure and position being the time, pressure and position during operation of the toothbrush during toothbrushing. The duty performance and optionally the duty time, duty pressure and duty position are indicated by indication portion (2 10) located either on the toothbrush device (100) or on the charge device (200). In case of a detachable toothbrush device (100), the control unit (120) in the toothbrush device (100) and the indication portion (210) in the charge device (200) may communicate via a wireless communication link.

摘要: A gas turbine engine includes a compressor powered by a turbine. The turbine includes a nozzle having vanes extending between outer and inner bands. Each vane includes an internal cooling plenum and a bypass tube extending through the bands. First and second manifolds surround the outer band and are disposed in flow communication with the plenums and bypass tubes, respectively. A bleed circuit joins the compressor to the manifolds for providing pressurized air thereto. A control valve modulates airflow to the first manifold and in turn through the cooling plenums of the vanes.

To warn the user against an excessive brushing pressure the toothbrush has a spring device with at least one spring (14) which acts between the second housing section (2) and the drive shaft (5), the second housing section (2) being pivotable relative to the first housing section (1) about the pivot (6) against a pressure exerted by the spring (14) during use of the toothbrush, which spring snaps when a given pressure threshold is exceeded and which pivot is disposed in the second housing section and also forms at least a part of a mechanical coupling between the drive shaft and the second housing section.
