Abstract: Data is organized in a hierarchical data tree having nodes, and is formatted in human-readable data according to a schema. The data is canonically ordered in correspondence with a canonical ordering of a schema dictionary generated from the schema. The canonically ordered data is encoded into binary, including for each node, removing a label of the node, and adding a sequence number of the node corresponding to the canonical ordering, in binary.

Abstract: In some examples, a field replaceable unit (FRU) storage device includes a storage medium storing a plurality of information areas and a common header for the plurality of information areas. The common header contains an indicator that when set to a first value indicates presence in the FRU storage device of first electronic component data according to an extended format that is different from a first format governing storage of second electronic component data in the FRU storage device relating to an electronic component in an FRU. The common header contains a field set to location information referring to a storage location of a file system area on the FRU storage device when the indicator is set to the first value, the file system area containing the first electronic component data according to the extended format and that relates to an electronic component in the FRU, wherein the file system area is accessible by a file system using information in the file system area.

Abstract: As a part of a networking system, a Smart Network Interface Card (NIC)/Data Processing Unit (DPU) translation agent can be implemented by a device within a Smart NIC/DPU. The Smart NIC/DPU translation agent translates operation requests associated with a vendor-neutral API method into a vendor-specific API method, e.g., to communicate with vendor-specific firmware. The agent comprises an orchestration unit for detecting an operation request from an external entity having vendor-neutral API; and translating the operation request based upon a fabric data model; a configuration service unit for generating management commands based on the modified operation request; and a proxy service unit for receiving and translating the configuration commands to communicate with vendor-specific firmware using the vendor-specific API method.
