    Abstract: A portable computing device may comprise an internal central processing unit (CPU), an internal graphics processing unit (GPU), a communications port to communicate with an external computing device, a first electronic display connected to the internal GPU, a second electronic display connected to the internal GPU, a touch input device to receive touch inputs from a user, and a display mode control unit. The control unit may cause the portable computing device to selectively operate in a dual display operational mode, a direct input operational mode, and an indirect input operational mode.

    Abstract: The present subject matter relates to display devices. In an example implementation, a display device comprises a display unit having color pixels and tracks of a black matrix covering spaces between the color pixels. The display device also comprises a display control layer over the display unit. The display control layer has longitudinal channels separated by transparent substrates and overlapping the tracks of the black matrix in one direction. The longitudinal channels comprise a first set of channels filled with undoped bi-stable liquid crystals to control a view angle of a display from the display unit, and a second set of channels filled with doped bi-stable liquid crystals to control absorption of blue/ultraviolet (UV) light from the display unit.

    Abstract: A display device includes pixels, a serial-to-parallel converter (SPC), a row driver, a column driver, and a switch. The pixels are arranged in rows and columns which include a first column and a first row. A first pixel resides at an intersection of the first row and first column. The SPC extracts, from a signal sent by a graphics controller, pixel data and a command. The row driver initiates a refresh of the pixels residing in the first row based on the pixel data. The column driver transmits the pixel data to the first column. During the refresh, the switch allows transmission of the pixel data to the first pixel when the command indicates that the first pixel is to be refreshed and prevents transmission of pixel data to the first pixel when the command indicates that the first pixel is not to be refreshed.

In an example, the nib is made of a base material (for example, a polyamide or a polycarbonate), a conductive material (for example, carbon fiber), and a grey color controlling material (for example, a white powder). The base material is in a range of 70 weight percentage (wt %) to 75 wt %. The conductive material is in a range of 15 wt % to 20 wt %. The grey color controlling material in a range of 5 wt % to 10 wt %.
