    摘要: An image reading apparatus which enables reduction of time to be taken from a job start instruction to a reading operation start. An automatic document feeder unit feeds an original. An upstream reader reads an image on one side of the original fed by the automatic document feeder unit. A downstream reader is disposed downstream of the upstream reader in an original feeding direction, to read an image on another side of the original. The upstream reader and the downstream reader read images of respective white reference plates, and the image reading apparatus generates correction data for the upstream reader and the downstream reader based on the images of the respective white reference plates read by the upstream reader and the downstream reader.

    摘要: A sheet conveying device which makes it possible to facilitate separation of multi-fed sheets. A separation pad and a separation roller separate sheets from a sheet bundle placed on a sheet tray, on a one-by-one basis. A pull-off roller section formed by a pair of conveying rollers nips and conveys a fed sheet. The two conveying rollers of the pull-off roller section have rotational axes extending in respective different directions. A registration roller further conveys the sheet conveyed by the pull-off roller section. One roller of the pull-off roller section is disposed such that the roller conveys a sheet in a direction in which the sheet is to be conveyed by the registration roller, and the other roller of the pull-off roller section is disposed such that the roller conveys a sheet obliquely with respect to the sheet conveying direction of the registration roller.

    摘要: There is provided a printer control apparatus which can be applied to an image forming apparatus in which a plurality of types of readers and a plurality of types of printers can be connected to a single controller, and which enable efficient transfer of image data from the reader to the printer via an image memory of the controller. The controller receives image data from a reader and temporarily stores the same in an image memory, and transmits the stored image data to a printer. The controller acquires a reader processing speed from the reader and a printer processing speed from the printer, and determines, while the image data is being written to the image memory, timing for transmitting the image data written in the memory to the printer according to a difference between the reader processing speed and the printer processing speed and a sub-scan size of the image data. The controller causes the reader to start reading an original, and transmits the written image data from the image memory to the printer in the determined timing.
