摘要: Objects of the present invention are to provide a microcapsule which can effectively and easily achieve: the prevention and adjustment of the bleeding-out of the encapsulated liquid substance from the capsule shell; and the enhancement and adjustment of the physical strength of the microcapsule; and to further provide a sheet and an electrophoretic display, both of which involve using the above microcapsules. As means of achieving these objects, the microcapsule according to the present invention is a microcapsule comprising a shell and a liquid substance that is encapsulated in the shell, with the microcapsule being characterized in that the shell contains fine particles having particle diameters of not larger than 1 μm. And the sheet according to the present invention comprises the microcapsules according to the present invention and a binder resin or comprises the microcapsules according to the present invention and a base material. And the electrophoretic display according to the present invention has as a constitutional portion a portion which includes opposite electrode films and the microcapsules according to the present invention, wherein at least either one of the opposite electrode films is transparent, and wherein the microcapsules are disposed between the opposite electrode films.

摘要: An electrophoretic display device includes M×N numbers (M, and N are integers more than two) of pixels. The M×N numbers of pixels include M numbers of pixel groups having N numbers of pixels. Further, an image on the electrophoretic display device is displayed by making some of the M×N numbers of pixels switched at least from a bright display to a dark display, and vice versa. A period for displaying one piece of an image on the electrophoretic display is defined as period for forming an image and a period for introducing an image signal to each of the M×N numbers of pixels with sequentially selecting each of the pixels is defined as a frame period. Then, the time for forming an image includes a plurality of frame periods (a numbers of L: L is integers more than two.)

摘要: An electrophoresis device includes a pair of substrates, a plurality of pixel electrodes, and a common electrode formed on the pair of substrates, a liquid material formed by dispersing charged particles sealed between the pair of substrates and a driving circuit for applying a voltage to the pixel electrodes and the common electrode to generate an electric field therebetween. When display image is changed, the driving circuit generates a first electric field between all the pixel electrodes and the common electrode to delete the image displayed by that time over the entire display region. Then, when new display image is written, the driving circuit generates a second electric field between the pixel electrodes corresponding to display and the common electrode, and generates a third electric field between the common electrode and the pixel electrodes not corresponding to display.
