Abstract: The control method for a hammer drill (1) provides the following steps. During basic operation, the motor (5) rotates at an operating speed for the drilling operation with chiseling action in order to rotationally drive the tool holder (2) and to drive the hammer mechanism (6) with a nominal striking power. The torque coupling (21) is monitored with the aid of a sensor (26). If a disengagement of the torque coupling (21) occurs, the striking power of the hammer mechanism (6) is reduced to below 10% of the nominal striking power during a disengagement of the torque coupling (21), and the torque coupling (21) is driven. When the disengagement of the torque coupling (21) ends, the striking power of the hammer mechanism (6) is increased to the nominal striking power and the torque coupling (21) is driven at the operating speed for the drilling operation with chiseling action.

Abstract: A method for controlling a device system is disclosed, and the device system includes a tool device and a motorized advancing apparatus during the machining of a workpiece composed of a first material and a second material different from the first material. The method includes machining the workpiece by the device system initially in a first operating mode with first machining parameters that are stored for the first material. After the start of the machining of the workpiece in the first operating mode, the method includes measuring and storing a first machining progress of the tool device as a reference value. During the machining of the workpiece in the first operating mode, the method also includes regularly measuring and comparing with a first threshold value a current machining progress of the tool device.

Abstract: A control method for a power tool for rotary tools comprises rotating a tool holder continuously about a working axis by a rotary drive. A rotary movement of a handle about the working axis is sensed by a motion sensor. A first angle of rotation of the handle is estimated by a first motion estimator, wherein rotary movements beneath a limit value are discounted. A second angle of rotation of the handle is estimated by a second motion estimator, wherein rotary movements beneath the limit value are taken into account. A measure for reducing the torque output of the rotary drive is activated when the first angle of rotation exceeds a first triggering threshold (A1), and when the second angle of rotation exceeds a second triggering threshold (A2) and at the same time a power output of the rotary drive exceeds a power threshold (L).

Abstract: A handheld power tool includes a tool holder for holding a tool, an electric motor, a shaft connecting the tool holder and the electric motor, and a protective device for stopping the tool holder in an uncontrolled situation. The protective device includes a sensor for detecting the uncontrolled situation, a switchable current source and a normally closing magnetic brake. The switchable current source outputs a first current not equal to zero in response to signals of the sensor if an uncontrolled situation is not detected; the current source does not output a current or outputs a second current different from the first current if an uncontrolled situation is detected. The normally closing magnetic brake engages on the shaft and does not apply a torque to the shaft when energized by the first current. The normally closing magnetic brake applies a torque counteracting the rotational movement of the shaft when not energized or when energized by the second current.
