摘要:
A method of manufacturing a glass product, in which a symmetrical glass member same in shape as a good made by combining a plurality of glass products is molded once and then the symmetrical glass member is cut to provide the plurality of glass products.

This invention relates to a cathode ray tube which uses a tension band to afford an implosion protection. The cathode ray tube of this invention includes a panal (21) formed of a face portion (4) which is respectively formed as a curved surface and a skirt portion (5). A mold match line (23) of this panel (21) is formed so as to substantially follow the boundary between the face portion (4) and the skirt portion (5) and a tension band (29) for use in implosion protection is wound around this mold match line (23). Accordingly, the tension of the tension band can effectively be transmitted to the entire periphery of the face portion and thus the implosion protection of the panel can be increased.

An improved cathode ray tube consisting of a panel member coated on its inner surface with a phosphor layer, and having a funnel member and a neck member with an electron gun mounted therein in which an image is formed on the phosphor layer by an electron beam emitted from the electron gun and comprising fittings located at the corners of the panel member with a tension band tightened to the panel member over the fittings with each of the fittings having first portions substantially parallel to the tubular axis of the cathode ray tube and second portions extending from the first portion and extending in the direction perpendicular to the tubular axis of the tube to form a substantially L-shaped member in cross-section. The first portion has curved surfaces which conform with a peripheral wall surface of the cathode ray tube at its top end portions and indented portions which distribute bearing stresses of a tension band uniformly over the tube to eliminate problems arising during explosion.

A process of producing a color selection mechanism for a cathode-ray tube which eliminates operations such as heat treatment at a high temperature for annealing and processing with levellers, to simplify production steps and resolves problems of rejects and dependability due to segregation of components involved in the stamping operation of a conventional process. A color selection electrode having a plurality of electron beam-passing openings formed therein is merely bent within the elastic limit of the material of the electrode, without causing a drawing effect, into a curved facial shape having substantially a cylindrical face as a basic facial shape thereof, and is permanently mounted in the curved condition on a frame to form a color selection mechanism.

A cathode ray tube of the type which comprises a tube body having a face plate, and a safety panel bonded to the front surface of the face plate through an interlayer of a cured adhesive resin composition. The adhesive resin composition comprises an unsaturated alkyd resin obtained from an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and a dihydric alcohol, a polymerizable monomer capable of dissolving the unsaturated alkyd resin an organic peroxide catalyst, an organometal compound accelerator, and a chelating agent for the metal in the organometal compound accelerator.

A cathode ray tube having a metal reinforcing band girdling its envelope adjacent the face plate is provided with a transparent protective panel which covers the face plate and is affixed to the latter by a transparent conductive layer of an adhesive resin filling a space therebetween, and one or more conductive connecting elements providing an electrically conductive connection between the transparent conductive layer and the reinforcing band which is grounded. The transparent panel and the transparent conductive layer cooperate to protect the face plate from damage that might cause implosion of the tube envelope, and the connection of the transparent conductive layer to ground ensures that the protective panel will not be electrified, whereby to eliminate any shock hazard from contact therewith.
