摘要: An ink tank is attachable to the attachment section by positioning first engagement sections at first fitting sections on the attachment section and then locking a second engagement section to a second fitting section of the attachment section by rotating the tank. The multiple supply ports are arranged on a bottom face of the tank such that the supply ports are on both sides of a center line in a width direction of the tank, and that distances between each of abutting centers configured to abut ink receiving parts of the attachment section, and the first engagement section side in a direction along a center line are mutually different. It is possible to avoid reception of a reactive force to the ink receiving parts at one time when rotating and attaching the tank, and to achieve stable attachment while suppressing excessive inclination of the tank at the time of attachment.

摘要: An ink supply system which includes an ink jet head for discharging ink and an ink tank retaining ink to be supplied to the ink jet head through a passage. A negative pressure generating container is provided along the passage, and generates negative pressure by a restoring force at the time of being deformed. With the ink supply system thus structured, it becomes possible to perform stable recording, because the fluctuation of flow resistance due to the fluctuation of discharge amount is made smaller, and also, there is almost no fluctuation of pressure along the carriage operation. Also, the retaining amount of ink becomes suitably greater for the performance of higher speed printing, and the replacement of ink tanks is possible, while ink still remains in the negative pressure generating container, hence making it possible to essentially prevent a complete ink depletion.

摘要: A recording head cartridge in which ink tanks include a removal preventing pawl which is provided at a rear surface of an ink container and engages with a tank holder, and a latch lever which is provided at a front surface of the ink container and which has a latch pawl engaging with the tank holder. The height of a rear wall and a side surface of the tank holder are set to be lower than corresponding heights of the ink tank. During removal, the container abuts the upper end of the peripheral wall of the tank holder an dis rotated about this upper end so that a part of the side surface of the container is protruded externally of the holder. Accordingly, a space required to remove the container form the tank holder is placed external of the peripheral wall of the tank holder. Thus, removal space ordinarily wasted by a conventional tank holder can be eliminated.

摘要: To provide a recording liquid feed path, recording liquid container, and recording liquid feed device having the same, as well surface modifying method for the recording liquid feed device to feed efficiently a recording liquid for ejection through a feed tube. If the interior of the feed tube is not rendered hydrophilic as shown in FIG. 3A, air which has passed through a wall of the feed tube forms a bubble, which bubble adheres to an inner surface of the feed tube and obstructs a flow of the recording liquid. But if the inner surface of the feed tube is rendered hydrophilic to form a hydrophilic surface as shown in FIG. 3B, the recording liquid is conducted along the hydrophilic surface at the inner surface portion of the feed tube with the bubble adhered thereto, so that the adhesion area of the bubble to the feed tube inner surface is reduced and the bubble floats from the inner surface. Consequently, when the recording liquid is fed, the bubble can be removed easily by the flow of the recording liquid and thus the flow of the recording liquid can be prevented from being obstructed by the bubble.
