    摘要: The invention provides a black and white photothermographic material including, on at least one surface of a support, at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder, wherein 50% or more of the total projected area of the photosensitive silver halide grains is occupied by tabular grains having an aspect ratio of 2 or more, and at least one apex portion of each tabular grain has an epitaxial junction. An image forming method is also provided, the method including bringing the photothermographic material into close contact with a fluorescent intensifying screen containing a fluorescent substance, wherein 50% or more of emission light of the fluorescent substance has a wavelength of 350 nm to 420 nm, and applying X-ray exposure. The black and white photothermographic material has high sensitivity and is superior in image storability and raw stock storability.

    摘要: A photothermographic material including an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on the same surface of a support, wherein the photothermographic material contains a compound having an adsorption group to silver halide and a reducing group, or a precursor of the compound, and satisfies one of the following conditions: 1) the photothermographic material contains a development accelerator; 2) the non-photosensitive organic silver contains silver behenate in an amount of not less than 80% by mole, and the binder has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 45° C. or less; or 3) the photothermographic material contains at least one compound represented by the following formula (H); Q-(Y)n—C(Z1)(Z2)X wherein, in formula (H), Q represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; Y represents a divalent linking group; n represents 0 or 1; Z1 and Z2 each independently represent a halogen atom; and X represents a hydrogen atom or an electron attracting group.

    摘要: In an internal latent image type direct positive silver halide emulsion containing core/shell type silver halide grains wherein at least light-sensitive sites of the silver halide internal core which has been subjected to doping with metal ions or chemical sensitization, or both, is covered with a silver halide outer shell, the improvement wherein a photographic additive which is adsorbed on silver halide in said emulsion or interacts with silver ion, said additive being a compound which functions to change the crystal form or particle size of the silver halide grains in the case of the formation thereof or acts as a sensitizer or a sensitizing assistant in the case of chemically sensitizing the core particles but has a harmful influence on photographic properties if it remains after use of it, is deactivated by a deactivator prior to completion of the formation of said core/shell type silver halide grains or completion of surface chemical ripening of said grains. A process for producing the above internal latent image type direct positive silver halide emulsion is also disclosed.

    摘要: A silver halide emulsion is disclosed which contains silver halide grains formed in the presence of a silver halide solvent. The solvent is a benzimidazole derivative having a hydrogen atom connected to the nitrogen atom at the 1st position thereof. By using this particular solvent a regular silver halide photographic emulsion having high sensitivity causing less fog is obtained. The silver halide solvent is unexpectedly advantageous in that can be almost completely desorbed from the silver halide grains by washing.

    摘要: A silver halide photographic emulsion is described, which has halogen composition comprises at least 60 mole % of silver chloride, 40 mole % or less of silver bromide, and 5 mole % or less of silver bromide. Grain formation is performed in the presence of a silver halide solvent selected from the group consisting of tetrasubstituted thioureas and organic thioethers, and from 10.sup.-8 to 10.sup.-5 mole of a water-soluble iridium compound per mole of silver halide. This photographic emulsion exhibits high sensitivity and provides high contrast even by flash exposure. Thus, it is useful for the production of light-sensitive materials to be used in the production of printing plates in accordance with photographic engraving.
